LOL...that's what this red tailed hawk seems to be saying to me...

Used the Nikon 28-200G at 200mm. F8 and 1/640th sec shutter speed...

(I love this lens)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Thank you

You are right I love my 28-200. This picture was taken on my vacation at Big Bear lake and of the hundereds of pictures I took, I can count the pictures I took with other lenses on my fingers. I am glad you like my PS work, actually this was my one of my first trys at something like this.

Nice hawk and good job on the background...isn't this lens a great
tool?

Thanks for the look,

Here is another little guy from the same trip both after PS and before

Here is the final pic:

and here is the original (I don't know where that weird white dot in the middle came from, it's not in the original)

Thank you

I think that when I resized the pic for upload I might have clicked on it when PS was in the brush mode and deleted the spot.

oh well!

Great Shot!!! How close were you to it?
this guy does seem like he wants to destroy you...::))....nice capture
i've always tended not to believe the hype about the 28-200....this
one is forcing me to reconsider..
Thanks for the comments...I think you would really love this lens
also...it is so versatile, from normal scenics and portraits to
macro and telephoto shots...

Small, lightweight and at least as sharp as the kit lens...

Thanks for the comment...

Hard to say how close I was, maybe 20 feet? I'm not good with distances...

I was driving back to work from lunch and saw him sitting on a lower branch on a tree near the sidewalk so I pulled over up a ways and walked back to him and got as close as I needed to be to fill the fame...

This is near a natural regeneration area and they are very approachable...

Here's another one I shot in the same general area back in April with my Nikon 70-300G...

David, thanks for the look...yes I have the 70-300G...

I think they are both pretty sharp, I have not noticed a sharpness or quality difference between the two...

The 28-200G is just so much more flexable so i have it mounted on the camera most of the time...of course if I need the extra reach the 70-300 would be my choice...

I also like that I can shoot scenics (42mm is wide enough for me in most cases but if I need wider I have the 18-70 kit lens)...

Macro capability is great too and if I need to shoot even tighter macros than the 28-200 allows I pop on my Oly Mcon-35 macro converter (62mm also, how convienient...)...

I know you use and love this lens also and your posts weight heavy in my decision to get it...
