Morning Mist

Steve - Several months ago, in response to several postings of yours with super pictures of the U.K. countryside, I said your images made me want to move to the U.K to get away from our Florida hurricanes. You replied saying something like, "Hold on, the weather here is also windy, rainy.. etc). Maybe the weather is not too good, but your good looking images sure make it look attractive.

Very nice, calming photos, Steve. A Mist is as good as a Smile? Must be so. Thanks for posting them.

I like 'em all but especially this 2nd one with the houses and trees in a kind of symmetrical perfection. No trips lately, "just" photographing around your area? Same here, but my FZ20 (yes, I succumbed) and gone-but-not-forgotten FZ10 have opened my eyes to things I'd never noticed before in my home town. It will do until I get back on the trail... :o)

Best Wishes,

Steve

Steve,

Nice going! That's a darn swell walk you have there. The menace in the dog shot is palpable, I can almost feel his jaws closing on my calf... or neck!

As ever, a visual treat to view your images.

Hi Stevie Buddy ...

Will get to replying to your email sooner rather than later......... you can always pull people out of the woodwork with your natural leaning to a good eye for photographic images...

Hi everyone,
Here's a few shots I took this morning on my way to work.

Like them very much, albeit the title is a bit funny for me:

Why is it when I open a bottle of wine the bit I want is always at the bottom.
Merry Xmas Jon.

Sorry about the delay in replying.

I have just checked the weather forecast for next next week as I am off work for a few days. Wednesday has got fog where I live, so I may try and find a suitable location for some more mist/fog shots.
Nice to hear from you and look forward to any posts you may do in the future.

I find exposing with the FZ very easy. I usually shoot in manual, establish whether aperture or shutter speed will be the main factor, in these cases aperture f8 (landscape/maximun DoF) and then lighten or darken the image by toggling the shutter until I get the effect I want.

Steve
Great shots Steve, looks like you have the exposures just rght.

I suppose then, mission accomplished.

However, (I swear to god) I am just about to go into the garden with some neighbours to repair another damaged panel fence that blown off it's post due to wind/gales. This is becoming a regular thing. It used to happen maybe once every 3-5 years, now it is 3-5 times a year.
Thanks again for your compliments.

Steve

Thanks John,

I live in the centre of a town. Slightly off the beaten track with the main park (yards away) between myself and my place of work which is right in the town centre. It means a 15 minute walk twice a day - which also means I can lie in bed a little longer!

The last one is my favourite too.

I suppose the moral is, everything and anything can be made interesting if shot from an unusual viewpoint, or if the light is different.
All the best
Steve
