Are you going to keep you 300D when you move "up"?

I will probably keep it because

1:The body I buy is so much better (I mean the sensor) than the 300D that I would prefer to use it all the time instead of one lens on each

2:By the time I upgrade the 300D will be pretty worthless so might as well keep it
I was thinking of taking the 300D along with a different lens when
I get the 20D, but I'm afraid the speed of the 20D plus the
different location of some of the settings will just confuse and
frustrate me.

How many of you have both and use them both at the same time?

I'm leaning towards selling the 300D and want to make sure I don't
make a mistake.

I have so many expensive hobbies, I won't be able to afford keeping the 300D when I upgrade (which will be earliest in a year from now anyway) ... unless it has completely dropped in resale value by that time.

that there is no way you could pretend or substitute a 300D for a 20D...

Just think, if every key-stroke was a shutter-press we would all be pros by now...

If I move up to a 20D or higher, or its successor, I'll keep it.

If I move up to a Konica-Minolta 7D or its successor, all my Canon gear goes on the auction block with no regrets.

One thing I really appreciate about Canon gear is that the lenses and flashes all seem to hold most of their value. Don't know about the body with these rebates going on, but I'm sure I'll feel I've gotten my money's worth if it ever comes time to sell.

Best regards,
Michael.

Hi Isabel,

If I could afford the 20D and all it's accessories now, I'd dump the
Drebel. I was thinking it would be great to keep the Drebel as
a second camera with an attached lens to take along in my use,
but it just doesen't make sense for me. I'd be too happy with the 20D
to want to use the Drebel I suspect.

The Drebel is great, but I'd likely always reach for the 20D and
switch a lens. Just like my past Nikon Coolpix's... I kept them because
they took great pics... but I don't use them anymore!
