I don't usually take flowers, but...

The colors and clarity of these pictures is Amazing!

I see that your camera is the O555. This is the same lens as the new 750z right? (I'm debating between the f810 and the 750z.......having a hell of a time about it too.)

Why were there so many people shouting about potential color problems from the new Pentax cameras?

any PS? How much?

How about a couple of Lanscapes from all you 750z owners.........I want to see the amount of detail, clarity, and hopefully lack of Purple Fringing. I have seen a lot of pictures that show the EXCELLENT macro abilities of this line of Pentax cameras!
I couldn't resist these:

White Lilly

Yellow Flower

Red Flower

I do a little post processing in PSP8, but these are virtually as they came out of the camera with a little tweaking of contrast and brightness etc. they could just be taken directly to the printer and would produce exceptional prints, but I like to tweak just for the fun of seeing what I can do.

They are mainly reduced to 800x600 and sharpened, then saved with a jpg compression of 20% for the web.

One of the strengths of the optios is the lens quality. They have very low CA, almost no purple blooming or fringing.

Awesome macros.

Did you use P-mode, a Pict/flower mode, or a custon User mode?

Hey Brian........I had a look at your gallery from another post about the 750z. Nice shots. Your gallery has helped me make up my mind. I'm buying the 750z over the fuji f810.

Well actually, they are all hand held using P mode from about .5mtr away using optical zoom to frame them. It was a glarey day without direct sunlight yet bright, so there were no distinct shadows.

This is the first time I have shot intense colours using my current default settings of contrast=normal, sharpening=normal and saturation=high on the O555. I have come to these settings as the default saturation of the O555 is a little low in my opinion.

I was quite amazed by them, that is why I posted. The red flower amazed me the most as it has parts that look genuinely shiny without any CA or fringing which I find digital cameras are usually poor at reproducing.
