F828 is a decent camera. Fast AF, no shutter lag, virtually everything is close to perfect. But...

1. Why Sony place the red-eye reduction feature in the setup mode? Its troublesome when i want to switch from red-eye reduc to normal flash.

2. Flash power setting should be more straight forward.

3. AF modes should have individual button instead of burried inside the setup menu.

My suggestion is: Other than pressing a button and turn the command dial, why not add a function that implement both pressing down the button + the jog dial? For example: For switching flash modes, we have to hold the "flash" button and turn the command dial to get the desired option, but then Sony could add another feature which is hold the "flash" button, then press up/down button to select flash power. Isn't that more convienient?

Anyone has anything else to add? :P

Right.. these litle annoyances are there...

like for instance why not to make that long press on "menu" button will switch to setup-mode instead on the dial ? and once u'll half press the shutter u'll return to shooting mode ?

Also long pressing the review button will bring you to "Review mode" instead of the dial ?

i can continue long with this... pretty irritating sony hasnt put just litle more thought to this..

Most of these can be changed in software even now... if there was a chance to write a serious list of suggestions and send to sony asking to implement in their next software version... But the problem i'm sure they will just ignore it unless someone known like phil will send it...

Actually this is somth that could be added to this site... a kind of forum where ppl make suggestions for say ..pro/prosumer models and somone approve/arrange them and send to the coresponding company... the companies will also probably be glad to recieve a good feedback... that just need to be arranged.. and not sure if phil have enogh ppl to do it... but we can try...

Why mocking around?
Why don´t u get another camera?
Why don´t u design a new FXXX, especially for ur desires?!
Why....???

One thing that's really cr@p is when you have image preview set to ON in setup and you can't just half press the shutter and it goes away like all other dslr! Should be pretty easy to do in firmware! I'd like to sometimes see what i have shot without having to press that stupid preview button and miss the next shot because the picture won't go away in preview ON mode!
Gotta get me a D20!!!

Well I miss the following:
B&W Mode
Steady Shot
Woulda liked a more powerful zoom(around 400mm stead of 200mm)

Also what you said......the combo of pushing buttons and dialing can be a hassle.

I can't complain tho the 828 has more Pro's than Con's.
Con's are actully minor issues.

Is it just me or does anyone else miss second-rear curatin flash sync?

I find it inexcusible of Sony to miss this feature.

I missed it. But i didn't use it so much.

What bothers me is the fact that the focussing mechanism is focussing on the most nearby item in de rectangels. The DOF is not enough :-)

My minolta 800SI does it more elaboratly so it is slightly more times correct.

The 717/V1/V3 all display last image taken until you keep shutter release depressed. This eliminates necessity of fixed-time-after-shot-review mode since you always can decide if you have time/wish to review and how long. Why the 828 misses this feature is beyond me.

I have noticed in my over 60 years of being fascinated with all types of cameras (and pictures) that we humans are highly evolved in using tools. Seems to me that all the cameras I've used in my lifetime have been very different. In 1944 I started with a "pin hole" camera and have run the gauntlet over all these years in cameras arriving at the 828. I have "adapted" to each one I believe... so I really don't have a wish or complaint list.... If I were granted a a modification on the 828 I could only "wish" for a lock on the swivel body... Guess I'm easy to please or a pushover!

Sony 505, 707, 828 and ?

I never use it so this doesn't bother me. For some reason I don't have problems with red eye either.
2. Flash power setting should be more straight forward.
Agree. More detailed I would say. There just isn't any fine adjustment like I'd wish.
3. AF modes should have individual button instead of burried inside

I don't change it that often.

I'd add compatibility with someone elses flash. I'd prefer Nikon myself. The 32X is nice but I'd like alot more options for TTL control personally.
