Has anyone ever tried to return a camera to Dell?

Do they charge a 15% Restock fee ?

The fine print in their policy states that a "%15 return fee may be deducted"

I don't believe they will charge this if the box is absolutely unopened. If you have opened it up, charged the batteries, etc... then unless you are a fast talker, you may get hit with it. However, if you tell them you are returning it and at the same time ask them to transfer you to sales so you can buy a different camera, then they may waive it.

I've never returned anything to Dell, but I have returned things to Gateway a number of years ago and to Best Buy. You usually have 15-30 days of "no questions asked" returns if item is unopened before the fees kick in.

I have, I think Dell is the best. Never a charge or any problem.

I have returned a G5, some time back. I categorically mentioned that I have opened the box, and tried it and i am not happy with the issue where "I can see the lens when i am trying to shoot using view finder, calling it a design defect" No charge, they even picked up the camera from home. No Shipping charge too.
