There has been much heated discussion on the problem of incorrect
flash exposure execution by the G1 when it is used with a non-Canon
flash in manual mode. Canon representatives whom we have contacted
explicitly stated that Canon did not intend to address this problem
now or in the future. It is time to let Canon know how its
position will affect Canon’s future business and give them a
chance to do something about it. Canon, please note, this forum is
relative small now but with the Internet’s help we collective
can spread further and faster than one can speculate, so please
don’t underestimate consumer power.
To cast your vote, simply reply with the single letter indicating

Canon’s refusal to address the problem will have negative
impact on my future purchase decisions and possibly recommendation
of Canon products to others.
B. I own a Pro 90 and want to use non-Canon flash on my Pro 90 but
it has the same problem as the G1. Canon’s refusal to address
the problem will have negative impact on my future purchase
decisions and possibly recommendation of Canon products to others.
C. I own a G1 or Pro 90 and don’t intend to use a non-Canon
now, but I do expect Canon to correct this problem. Canon’s
refusal to address the problem will have negative impact on my
future purchase decisions and possibly recommendation of Canon
products to others.
D. I am considering a digital Canon camera. Canon’s refusal
to address this problem will affect my purchase decision.

I really have no excuse except that it was late and it was how I felt about this topic. I regret that I did not remove the offensive portion before posting. It will not happen again. Thank you for reminding me of the importance of netiquette.I can't believe this foul-mouthed display of ignorance.
Oh, I assure you I would would....I'm sure this guy wouldn't wouldn't listen to a girl
This has more to do with an attempt to hold a company hostage than it does with lighting equipment, which is why I objected to it so strongly in the first place. Be that as it may, when I require some information regarding lighting equipment, I hope I will be welcome in this forum to post my queries.but can't one of you guys teach him and the other know-it-alls some basics about lighting equipment?

Hi GeorgeYou forgot F. As in: why the F--- should Canon (or any other
manufacturer) devote money & resources to fine-tuning its products
to work with products that it doesn't have any control over? It
isn't gonna happen; nor should it.
