I was shooting video mode today and suddenly the display just froze. No buttons would respond, not even the on/off switch. After waiting to make sure it wasn't simply trying to clear a buffer or something, I finally had to remove the battery to reset it. When I did I noted the file was corrupt and htere was no video. I'm using a turbo card so speed should not be an issue. Anyone else had their FZ3 Hang on them?

What kind of so called "turbo" card are you using i.e. brand type in particular. Hopefully it was not a sandisk "ultra" card as they have been plagued with problems in the past year or so. Also was your battery running low at the time??

--Before bought my first card, I read a bunch of threads and posts on the subject, and concluded the Sandisk Ultra was a good one to buy, and did so. I have had no problems.

I have shot a number of videos with my FZ3 w/o incident (tho I am not happy with the quality, but I knew that before I bought the camera).

Sorry I can't help on your particular issue. Hope you weren't shooting bear videos when you lost your ability to see what you were shooting! ;-)

Thanks Guys:

No just the kids! I'm using the Shikatronics Turbo 512MB cards. Battery was full power. Card was not full. Shikatronics is going head to head with the best Lexar's so that's why I bought them. I was the longest video I've shot, maybe I'll run off right now and let the camera run again on a long one and see if it hangs again. So far I must admit, I'm pretty disapointed with this camera, starting to hear myself contemplate that I should have bought the S1 Canon after all!

Are there any other issues that make you regret buying the FZ3?

Yes a number of them, most posted in other threads under my name in the past week or two. Mainly the camera appears to not work properly due to a faulty focus or IS system, still have to troubleshoot it more to see if that is truly the case. Panasonic, when contacted by phone, was certainly less than helpful, this group has definetly been the best resource.

My LC40 hangs when I attach it to the clothesline with clothespins.( My tripod broke.)

And it IS very likely that you do have a defective FZ3.

Considering that your FZ3 might be defective, it's not fair to say that you regret buying the FZ3 and should've bought the canon IS.

If you want to regret anything, that would be your decision to play dice buying the FZ3 for cheaper price. You should've thought about product returns before you purchase the camera.

I do feel sorry for you, and I hope you get the situation resolved.
