I am going to Orlando this December. Among other things, I will be taking pictures of nightime fireworks and christmas lights. I have the 18-55 kit lens, the 50mm f1.8, and the 28-128 IS as well as some telephotos. Which of these would probable be the best. If none will work, I was also thinking of buying the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 lens. Any suggestions.

On whole, I would go with the speed for the christmas lights, so the 50 f/1.8. Are you using a tripod? This could potentially change the answer. If the christmas lights are at outside , the wind can blow them so you don't want your shutter speed to get too slow!

For fireworks, I would definitely put the camera on a tripod, stop the lens down and just use a remote shutter release and hold the shutter open for a few seconds while the speed is set for bulb.

Have fun!

I should have said for fireworks, I would just pick the focal length that works the best for you since you will be stopped down anyway.
