Where did you hear about the CA service?

Walmart and Sams are doing this in all locations. Upload to their site and then pick up in the stores in one hour. Much better than next day.
 
double check on that. My understanding is that Walmart and Sams are uploading to their wholesale labs so the mini labs can concentrate on film. digital is killing them because they have so much business. gc
 
Nope, I know for a fact that it is sent to their minilabs. Check out their web site. I had some sent there and they were ready on time.

What about the back printing on the photos at Walmart & Sams???

My local Store can turn off the image intelligence (auto corrections) but can't seem tochange the back print. Anyone able to get their Sams/Walmart to do this?

It is just as easy to turn off the back printer as it is to turn off auto correction. Ask for the photo manager or for the store manager next time. gc
 
I am on a 1st name basis with the photo manager...all was great until about a month a go when the corp office started upgrading the software for the online order process. Now they are telling me that they are restricted from changing the back print. They are willing to do it but do not have access to change it anymore. There is probably a way to do it but I'll have to figure it out for them. Have you had your store change the back print within the last couple of weeks? If so, that gives me hope.

Karen: I don't use their services. I just happen to know the equipment and it is a simple procedure to go into the program and turn off the backprinter. I serviced this type of equipment for many years, and I know that it should take no more than 30 seconds to a minute to turn off that backprinter. gc

Ok..am I having a "SR moment"? What do you mean by custom back printing?? Sorry to sound like an idiot :)

Will put your business name or image name on the back, example: Joe Blow's Photography. They will do this at Costco but want an extra dollar to do it. At my Walmart if I ask them to add anything or turn off color correction they look at me like I have three heads!
 
I've been using Winkflash. Very reasonable, can choose matte finish, and you can enter your own backprinting. I'm not an expert, but I've been very happy with the quality. The only downside is it takes a few days.

Depending on which Kiosk and the software installed,you may have to enter into a ini. file in the software to disable the back printing.It's not always controlled (kiosk back printing) at the printer.

When I went to their site today it had ca as well as oregon washington and utah but only with limited areas in these new states. It looks like these areas in California are in the bay area and central valley.
