Challenge: Favorite Photos of Kids

Cameron,

Very nice set of photos! I still like this one the best. I also like to take outside shots. Occassionally I will use a fill flash to knock out shadows on the face. This is especially helplful when the sun is bright.

Tom

That is a very cute photo! You can see how intent and serious she
is about making her explanation clear.

This is my little girl, Lauren. I call this one "Meditation on My
Sock"

Mark,

At least she is being subtle about it! Great shot.

Are We Having Fun Yet?

Nope, and if you check the whole image, she'll tell you for sure.

Church Festival in Shelbyville, Indiana.
S100 - full auto.

Nice shots, Kevin. What is the background of the little girl? Looks like a frozen lake. I also like to look of determination on the runner's face. As a one-time competitive distance runner, I can relate!

That's a great shot, Pete! I love to see the smile on my little girl's face. You just know that it comes straight from their hearts.

What a good idea for a challenge post!! Here is a little girl
called Laura, not a great photograph technically, but the look of
joy as she holds on to her father's hand and gets pulled around is
really special to me. She's swimming in Brown lake, on Stradbroke
island, coloured brown due to tannins in the water.

Nice to be back,
DU Pete

That's a great shot, Greg! Lauren loves to pull all of her stuffed animals into her crib. I sometimes marvel at the determination she has...not to mention the reach!

I caught a friend's daughter in a quiet moment with her pals...

Thanks, Tom. I really do enjoy taking their pictures. Here is another one of my nephew watching TV.

Thanks...

It was my son in the 50 yard dash at the local schools Jr. Olympics.

I was in the stands with a D1 and a 80-400VR. I was at 400mm F8 and 1/750 shutter. I had to wait 4 hours for that shot! But it was worth it. :)

Kevin
I can hear the music now...DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DDUUUUUNNN!

Nice action shot.

Hi Tom,

The background is actually a parking lot :) We were visiting Crater Lake. I couldn't resist adding these other photos.

that is a classic! You realize that that photograph will follow seth around for the rest of his life? :) That's the baby picture he puts in his high school yearbook, in the photo-collage his kids put together for him for his 50th birthday, etc, etc...

HAHAHAHA - can't help but laugh out loud! those are some more classic shots!!! great idea having her make those faces!!
Sorry for so many, but they go together...

This is my youngest daughter. I told her to make a mad face and
here are the results. They're shot with my Sony S70 on fully auto
(can you tell? haha). Then I 'fixed' them up in PS6 as best I could.

Comments welcome!

great shots! the tree one is really funny.. good eye!
Here is a scan of a photo I took of my two sons nine years ago. The
only copy I can find is 2" x 1.5", wish I could find the original.
To see the effect best you need to open in a new window.
