I want to get a better understand between the two and thanks for your imputs.

Spot: Meters 2.3 mm dia. circle (about 1% of frame) centered on active focus area. So if the focus area is on the top, the spot metering is measured on the top highlighted focus area? If it's on the right, spot measures on the right.

Center weight always measure at the center area regardless if the focus area is on the top, down or side.

Are the above statement true?

Thank you for your confirmation.

So if one use the center weight option and wants to recompose. One would focus at the center (with center weight metering), AE/AF lock and recompose the subject (ie 1/3 rule) and the off center subject will still have the proper center weight exposure?
You are correct.
