I just got my Epson Photo Printer. Now I want a camera. Have read the reviews of the G1 and it sounds top notch but have also read it is not good for a beginner. I am not looking to do art, just get good prints. I want to be able to print nice 8x10's so I think I need the 3 megapixals. I would like the camera to be fairly easy to use which I have the the G1 is not. Do you think the G1 would be a good choice or not for me.
Thanks
Bob

The G1's 'point and shoot' ability is not the best in its class. Even if you go beyond this, still expect to do some basic optimisation in your image editing software with the majority of the pics.

Having said that the G1's output can be very rewarding with a bit of time, effort and lots of practice.
I'll leave it to others to recommend other cameras.

I went through many of the same considerations before i bought my G1

5 months ago. I am a complete newbie as the G1 is my first digital camera...yes my first camera of any type actually.

I didn't find it hard to operate at all. Actually most things are quite self explanatory. I shoot mostly in P-mode which is almost Auto and have been very satisfied with the results.
