and the order of camera reviews dpreview is going to release.....

people, what u think?......perhaps phil can comment.....:)

First, I don't think Phil knows when a review is going to come out for more than few days in advance (due to camera/lens issues, availability, weather, software issues, sickness, etc etc).

Second, if Phil did put out a timeline, then people would start emailing him and bugging him to tell them this and that about cameras that Phil had "in hand".

In short, it gives Phil no advantages at all - he gets bugged more and has more pressure to stick to a timeline that may not be in step with reality. And how does it help us, the readers? More fodder to pester Phil with? So we can whine in advance about Phil not reviewing our favorite digicam?

I think something along the lines of what Jeff Keller does at dcresource would be much appreciated. Maybe not even quite that much. All that is probably needed is a list of the cameras that Phil currently has on hand for reviewing.

I have already sent Phil feedback saying as much. I guess Phil has his reasons for not doing this. Oh well, even with this minor annoyance, this site is the best of its kind and I will continue visiting it on a regular basis.

Phil has often shared what cameras he is currently reviewing. What the poster is asking for is to merely publish this information in a known location. I agree that people might get upset if timelines aren't met. It should be made clear that those are not hard dates.

Bad idea, but for your information, we are currently reviewing:

Nikon 8800, 8400, 4800
Canon G6
Casio P700
Sony V3
Pentax 750Z
Olympus C-7000
Panasonic FX7
Kodak DX7590

And more...

As well as some previews...

As to WHEN these reviews will be published we can not timeline that.

A list like this one, updated once a month would be great! One question - Simon said a few days ago that he was working on a Panasonic FZ20 review. Is that review still in the pipeline?

Thanks

Your question is a perfect example of why we DON'T normally publish this list.
