Can someone tell me where to go for the best prices on memory sticks? The price can make a difference in trying to choose between the G1 and the S75. --Fred

Last week I ordered 2 64MB memory sticks for my soon-to-be-arriving S75. I got 2 Sony 64MB's for ~$85 a piece, final shipped price. Here's what I did:

1. I know that Staples carries the Sony 64MB Sticks, for $119.98 each. Now, I know that's waaaay too high, but I also know that Staples price matches. http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/SKU.asp?BCFlag=False&PageType=1&SKU=430687

2. So, I searched (pricegrabber, mysimon, etc) to find the online retailer that had the best cost of the Sony 64MB's, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE RETAILER'S OVERNIGHT SHIPPING PRICE. One of the best places I found was Sparco.com, who had the 64MB Sony Sticks for $80.76 each (when buying 2 of them, for just 1 it's $81.52). Their overnight shipping for 2 Sticks was $29.40, which brought the total cost from Sparco to be $190.92. http://www.sparco.com/cgi-bin/wfind2?spn=A666958

2. I went to techbargains.com to check out the coupons that they have listed for Staples. (they have several "$30 off $150" and "$40 off $200" coupons there.) http://www.techbargains.com/coupons.cfm

3. I called Staples up (1-800-3STAPLE) to place an order, and told them that I wanted to do a pricematch. The rep went to Sparco's site to confirm the price & overnight shipping charges, and said that Staples would pricematch the 2 Sony 64MB Memory Sticks for $190.92. I then added another item that was at least $9.08, to get my total order cost to $200 or more. You can add whatever you want around that price, but just for the sake of my example, I personally added a pack of 25 Imation slimline CD Jewel Cases for $10.99, which brought my total to $201.92. http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/SKU.asp?BCFlag=False&PageType=1&SKU=437975 I told the rep that that was all of my items. Now, they ship overnight for free, but they do tack on sales tax (for me it was 6% for PA), which bumped the order cost up to $211.62

4. She asked if I had any coupons. I told her yes, and gave her one of the "$40 off $200" coupon codes. After she applied that, she said my total cost was $171.62.

So, when all was said and done, the way I look at it, I got 2 Sony 64MB Sticks for $85.81 each ($171.62 divided by 2), final price, shipped overnight! And I got the 25-pack of slimline jewel cases too, basically for free in my mind! Not too shabby if you ask me!!!

Well, I hope you've found this to be helpful.
