This is the fruits of 19 shot mosaic pano. This is the largest one I have been able to complete to date. I spent the entire weekend optimizing, stitching, and enblending this monster. The final image was a 245Mb, 60+MP tiff file.

It took me several attempts to get the entire image enblended. Enblend brought my computer to its knees when it came asking for 1492 MB of memory! I ended having to output the image as multiple tiffs and Enblend it a couple of images at a time.

Shot with F707, stitched with PTAssembler+Autopano+Enblend.

I hope you like it, let me know what you think.

I appreciate the camment Andy. I actually shot this several weeks ago and abandned trying to optimize and stitch it since it was taking so long to do one complete iteration. Since installing the new version of pano12.dll for pano tools it rips through the optimization and stitching.

This little project has given me a new found appreciation of Max Lyon's Gigapixel pano.

I've got a 35 shot pano that I have optimized but not stitched yet. I tried stiching it once and Windows choked on it.

"I need more power Scotty!" :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

and an even more amazing accomplishment. 19 images! I've been thinking I should try a mozaic pano but I was thinking more along the lines of 4 images and even that seems daunting. Nice job!

I knew there was a reason I spent to bucks on 2GB of memory other than gaming:P

Sounds intense, great shot!!

It's not as daunting as you might think. PT Assembler and Autopano really take most of the labor out of it. Most of my problems were the result of Windows memory management issues not necessarily with the program.

Warning! Once you try it, you'll be addicted. Then you'll need bigger and bigger pano's to get your fix! ;-)

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Nikolai ,

Thanks for the comment. It was a lot of time spent but I really liked the outcome. It has motivated me to try even bigger (and maybe, better?) pano's.

Take Care.

Joel
Dude, this is insane:-)!
Whatever time and effort you spent, it's well worth it!
Awesome work!
