OK, here's my guess. I see the roadrunner (from the cartoons) in the clouds. I also see a beautiful sunset pano with great colors and no evidence of being stitched. Great job. Now, did I win?...LOL.

1. Woman pointing to the north

2. Woman swimming through the sky

3. Mermaid riding a swordfish. (well there had to be a fish in there somewhere. Right?

Good stuff Dave,

... nothing.... if there is a shape in the cloud... I am not seeing it and I generally see that stuff....

and exploring it for others suggestions, all I see is ( tongue in cheek ) is a severe case of red eye ( black circle around sun making it look like an eye ). Perhaps the flash intensity was set too high }8~p.
Just teasing of course.

Cheers

Well , I look at the cloud , Dave , and I am reminded of the figureheads that adorned the bows of old sailing ships.
But then I may need to see a specailist ! lol
Are there no wrong answers ? :o)

...a very nice sunset pano and another chance to try to validate
a postprocessing technique I've been using on shots that seem
to me to have too much almost solid black in them. I'm not sure
if you are interested in technical feedback, or just want us all to say,
"Great shot!" But since giving technical info is pretty much all I do
here, I've got some for you. You can of course ignore it.

Sometimes you want to direct the viewer away from certain areas
of the photo, so you intentionally darken them or keep them dark if
that's what the camera gave you, but in the case of this shot I think
it can be improved by being able to better see a very interesting skyline
which is obscured, at least on my gamma 2.2 monitors, by the clouds in
the lower part of the sky being almost as dark as the land below. So
to get more contrast at the skyline I applied the following formula in
Photoshop 6: select shadows, feather 20, copy, paste, levels gamma 2,
usm-30-50-0, opacity 50%. This formula lightens the dark areas like a
fill-in flash without affecting the light or bright areas and blends the
effect smoothly. I think the fill-in flash function in newer photo editors
such as Elements might provide a similar effect in just one step.

Here is the result on your image:

Dave, I see what others see, a really great capture of a beautiful sunset. Excellent job on the pano too. I don't see anything odd or strange though.

Roy, I wasn't so sure I was buying what you were selling (so to speak) until I looked at the results in the 2 pictures. Good call and nice job. I'm gonna go back and look at a couple of mine now.

holding you back Jack and it's the colourful wildlife you photograph, we don't get any of that over here so it's sunlit skylines or nowt...LOL
nice sunset with no visible evidence of stitching.
Nice work Dave. I still haven't got into panos yet, but I think
it's about

I'm up for some help and advice all day any day...

Your technique has certainly enhanced my pano for sure.

I have saved the instructions you shared for future use, thank you very much for this tip.

point asn't he I have played with a couple of other pano's using his technique and it makes for a more dramatic skyline..

Thanks for stopping by Andy.
