I have read many post over time with people asking how the D100 will perform with youth sports, I think it does just GREAT, I am a very happy D100 user. This is only a second picture posting but comments welcome. BTW this was taken with D100 and 70-300 ed

I just love shooting football from the sidelines! Talk about addictive! It is also a ton easier than soccer which is SO fast moving! Your shot looks fine. I shot action with my D100 for two years before getting a D1H. You'll have a great time!

Heres a couple with my D1H and 300mm F4

Oh, give me daylight, not stadium lights....

Having shot soccer and girls fast-pitch softball, I agree that expression is great, but it can be found in High School football as well, even at night.

D2H, 1/250, f2.8, 80-200AFS SB-800DX, crummy high-school stadium lights :-).

Oh, I envy you guys daytime football....

Interesting you say that. I was going to say I love shooting soccer
because you can see the expressions in players' faces better
without helmets.

I wish I was better at this. I know what you mean about the faces; I just don't seem to catch the moment as often as I would like. I would appreciate any advice on shooting positions for soccer. Here are a couple luckier shots from Saturday

Sorry to hijack your thread. I got carried away a bit. The pics you have shown are a great start. I know you'll love it more and more as you get better and better shots. Have fun and post again.

All of your shots are great!

Can you guys post some advice on where you are setting up and settings you use to get such great shots?

I have been interested in doing some shots like these, but I only have a 3 year old daughter and one more on the way (daughter - due Oct. 6th). I have been thinking of going up to the local sports park and taking some photos of the pee wee teams there.

Before doing that, I will need to get to know some of the parents/coaches, so people are not wondering who the strange guy is taking photos of their kids... and rightfully so on their part.

Here is the only example I have to show, from a Steelers game I went to while up north visiting our family.

Thanks for any advice you guys can give me.
