Does anyone have any information about what Cannon has in store for their next Digital SLR Camera? Maybe a time frame or possible features or any tid bit of information for someone wanting Cannon to come through with a 5 to 6mp Digital SLR at a reasonable price! --Tony

Before bringing up this subject again I promise I learn how to spell Canon :-)

Sorry, couldn't resist

Tobias is right.

Besides, this subject has been beaten to death on this forum and no one has the energy to start it again.

Sorry, and I do understand your curiosity if you are a newcomer. I was once asking same tired questions to same tired Forum Members myself.

Yes, the new Canon is coming.....

Thanks Andrzej! I am a newbie here and I was just looking for a little information on the next Canon Digital SLR. I am not one to beat a dead horse or anything, but did not locate any information on this subject that is all. Thanks in advance to anyone that can & will give me any information on this subject.

This same question--usually even with correct spelling--get asked and answered (to the extent that it can be since no one who really knows can talk about it) in this forum about once a week.

There really is no news out there. Just a bunch of speculation and hot air.

Just imagine the Canon you would like to see and go to bed with the thought that you will not see it in the near future. Just dream...

We are all waiting for the next one. Like a bunch of addicts who want to spend another $3000 to $5000 on the next fad which in 6 months will become obsolete or at least "not fashionable" anymore.

Good Night
and sweet dreams about the next Canon.

I really would stop dreaming and start acting. It is not about pixels anymore, but functionality, speed and rapid focusing.
My D30 delivers perfect full frame 8x10's ( I never tried it larger than this).

Yes, I wish it was faster and had a larger buffer, but never have I wanted more pixels.

If you have the bucks, than dive into a D30 today.

Every day which you are waiting for a 6MP has plenty of photo opps which will never happen again in your life.

How funny andrzej! The dream is on then!!!

andrzej, I certainly understand what you are saying, but the Speed and Pixels are just around the corner!

At a bigger price though. Besides - these little gems are not the mechanical beasts of yesteryear.

Start saving your film and proccessing costs now! When a pro one ever comes out - buy it and move your current one to spare body in case you have a technical problem on your main one.

In film days - if I cared about what I was shooting - I always brought along my old body.

Canon also purposely has always stated this isn't a "pro" camera clearly indicating to this "seer" that the are really saying - the pro camera is gonna cost a lot more. And as long as the competition is up their, why not.

There is always someone who can't afford the D50 or whatever it will be called so buy the D30, start enjoying it, and sell it off and upgrade to the D50. The 500 you lose if you lose that much look at as a rental. If you shoot over 30 rolls of film on the D30, your're ahead of the game.

you will actually shoot far more pictures once you make the switch since you never even think about cost anymore. It's a real riot. I haven't had this much fun in years with photography.

God point John.

Thats exactly the way I was thinking when I bought my D30 ( but I'm still sorry about the poor focus in low light ).

So go for it buy the D30 now -" it will always bee a better one around the corner".
