I have ordered an S75 a month ago or so from one of the online firms. I am not certain but believe they may use Ingram Micro as their distributor. For what its worth--when I checked availability today they told me they are expecting their stocking warehouses to receive their initial shipments today.

I chatted with one of their reps online at their site today...here's the conversation:

Their site still shows a status of backordered, so I don't know if this guy was just blowing smoke or what.

I checked with Techstore.com, whom I preordered my S75 from, and got the following email...
Dear Wade Leishman.
The ETA date for this item: 001106TD is 4/30/2001.
Because this is a vendor-provided date,
product availability on this date cannot be guaranteed.

I think I'll just wait for all this smoke to clear....

The same thing has happened with Techstore.com and OfficeExpress.com (same place?).. The price jumped to $692 this morning!
It figures, because I tried to put my order in last night using BorderFree and there was a little hitch. I was going to try it again this morning, but now that the price has gone up I think I'll just wait.

I checked back today to see if they showed up yesterday and was told no.
According to the guy I talked with their distribution channels are telling them that its day to day--in other words its past due and should/could show any day. They have received no information from Sony (or their dist. ) to change the 4/30 due date.
