I am on vacation and forgot the C2100 manual. Does anyone know if its possible to download a manual?

Also, when I loaded the camera software on this windows computer it wont recognize the camera on the usb port. The software just says unable to connect to camera? Any ideas?

I just tried removing the camera software and reloading it again. Rebooted the computer (windows me). Ran the camedia software, turned on the camera and connected the usb cable. Then clicked my camera... same results. says cant connect to camera. I recall from the manual that there were some directions on connecting the camera to the usb port for the first time. I use the camera with my home computer just fine with usb downloads. When I first plugged in the usb cable to camera the windows software came back and said new hardware detected. So I know its connected correctly. Does anyone have any ideas. Unfortunately I dont have the manual with me.

OK, so you installed the Camedia software. Did you install the
USB driver? The C2100 requires the USB driver to be installed
from the CD (a seperate step from the Camedia software).
Turn off your computer and camera, connect them with the
USB cable, turn on the camera (in playback mode), then
turn on the computer. If it detects new hardware and asks
to install new drivers then guide it to your Camedia CD's \USB folder
and \Win98 or whatever. Allow the drivers to install.

Then - load your Camedia software and choose Edit/Options/
Download and ensure that USB is selected.

I'll search out the link for the C2100 manual and post it in a few minutes.

Thanks for the link and usb info. I tried what you suggested. Turned off the computer. Then turned on camera with the usb cable attached. Then turned on computer. It didnt prompt for any new drivers or devices. And when I loaded camedia software, I went to options and set it for USB. Still no luck as it indicates not able to connect. But this time it only takes a sec or two to determine this where before on auto it took several minutes. I tried this twice with same results. No luck.

I think that if I tried that the first time I tried to connect the camera it might have worked. But now it seems to be unable to accept it as a new device?

I'll download that link for the manual. although it says 1 hour download timer!!! The manual is not on the Olympus web site so thanks for the link.

the correct procedure is to turn on the computer, then connect the usb cable to the computer and the camera, then run the Camedia software THEN turn on the camera. Any other procedure will not work

This took several hours of work but I was able to figure out how to go into windows ME device drivers screen and specify a user defined device driver and then upload it off the CD rom that came with the camera. It shouldnt have been that difficult :-)

And then printed out the complete user manual for the C2100.
Thanks very much for the help!!
