I feel exactly the same way Peter. If it wern't for the fact that the D2H is a fabulous camera, I would have to bite the bullet and lose $$$ to have a camera capable of excellent results. Oh yes, I would love to have the D2X, for the extra features it has, but I'm very pleased to know my D2H is more than everything I need in a camera now. Besides, lol... I won't even broach the subject of possible flaws with the D2X that the D2H doesn't suffer from. I believe the D2X will be most everything hoped for...but so is the D2H.
I'll take a 50% hit on selling the D2H and I can't see letting go for $2000.00 CDN. No, this camera I'll keep. Perhaps one day it will be my worthy backup. There is also the possibility that a D2H will remain my tool of choice...I am that happy with it.

Today there was a huge teachers protest march of some 50 000 people
here in Durban South Africa and I had left the D2H at home -- so I
had to use the office D70. Well, I guess the quality of the shots
was fine, but I missed that speed like you can't believe. People
everywhere, swaying and moving around, and that buffer was filling
up faster than I could shoot, I missed a few good ones I think and
I realised just how awesome that camera really is.
Besides, image quality is so good IMHO, I see no need to change.
And finally, don't let anyone try and tell me that digital is
cheaper than film. I've gone from an S2 to a D100 to the D2H. I
lost big money on the S2 (over 50 percent) a bit on the D100 and
then there is the cost of cards, card readers, digital wallets,
extra batteries, hard disks, and so on.
I'm actually a bit cash deficient on all this stuff and I need to
recoup this with sales.
Ifr one is an early adopter, one pays a premium price, and with
prices dropping quite dramatically and a constant market driven
demand for yet another camera, it's easy to loose big money on gear.
I'll buy a 12-24 Nikon instead and enjoy the D2H. After all its not
obsolete, its the sister of the D2X, and, I just love it.
