I suppose it was going to happen sooner or later. I have really missed being able to take IR shots hand held. My neighbor let me take his 717 for the weekend (still haven't given it back yet) and I took it to our local arboretum to try shooting some critters. I pick up the new 717 tomorrow. This time I'm going to keep it:) Here's a few shots that I took of those little critters, along with one of my nephew. Now that I actually have a Sony camera again I can finally come back out of lurker mode....

Don't know what this thing is but it was fun watching him go from flower to flower...

Last, but not least, the nephew...

So, do I understand you to be saying you now own two 717s?

Thanks. I'm going to like having the greater DOF back. Should work nicely for macros and landscapes when I don't want to use a tripod.

Thanks. I know what you mean. It's nice to have that added DOF when you need it and the ability to shoot IR hand held. This one I'm going to hold on to:)

Hi Dwight,

Nice to see you back. :) I hear ya. I really like my 10D, but I still really enjoy shooting with my F707 from time to time. I personally think the two cameras compliment each other quite nicely.

Great shots!

Great shots Dwight1973! Where could you find them? I hardly see one over here in Southern California!

did you do any post processing? they turned out very well....i just want to know if that came straight from the camera without post process.

i can't get that kind of results with my 717 for some reason =)
