Hi there everybody,

I own a PC (sorry!!) but was extremely impressed by a slideshow I saw on a Macintosh computer recently. It was running on a laptop, and it basically consisted in photos that dissolved seamlessly into each other but at the same time also panned and zoomed ever so slightly. It made for a superb, professional effect.

I think the slideshow was just running with the default MacOS slideshow program that comes with the operating system.

Now my question is this (no surprise): is there a program which can do a similar thing on PC's?

Thanks!

You can do professional looking slide shows with quicktime Pro and you can use the PC version to do it.

I think he's referring to the built-in screen saver in OSX that allows you to select a folder of images and then it displays them, full-screen, in a dreamy, slow pan and zoom effect, dissolving smoothly between images. It's not intended as a watchable slideshow per se (after a while you can get quite seasick!) as you can't change timing and the effects are limited. But it a very polished way of showing off images while your computer's idle. And sorry, but no, I don't know of a PC equivalent - most of us are Mac guys here - you might have better luck in the PC forum.

I've made several slide shows using quicktime pro. It's easy to do and the shows look great. You have to use the pro version in order to it. The Pro version has many speical effects you can use to create very professional looking slide shows in a relatively short time.

Really? - I thought that was for movies only, I'll have alook...

I guess what I'm after is the "Ken Burns" effect... - but with
dissolving together with panning/zooming...
