Simple question, will my BG-ED3 nattery grip work on my newly ordered 20D?

Or is only the new grip which takes the AA batteries compatible.

Many Thanks

Tony

That's what i want to know as I have the rebel grip allready. I notice in phils preview that the 20d is 2mm longer than the rebel, but the same width.

Yes it will fit.. but you'll need a screwdriver, some sort of prying device, and a blowtorch..

ahhh.. forum search is a wonderful thing...

I'll know in a few weeks I guess. I bet they used that extra 2mm's to move the battery compartment over so I can't use my rebel grip.

How about a simple no...
You need a newly developed grip BG-ED2.

Canon EOS-10D (soon to be 20D)

I guess it's because everybody calls the grip Big Ed.

The current production models are Biggie-1 (Rebel) and Biggie-2 (20D).

They definitely don't fit 10D, nor does 10D's Big Ed fit Rebel or 20D.

Whether a person marginally competent with shop tools can MAKE a Biggie-1 fit 20D or vice versa is conjectural at the moment. It may be a relatively simple matter of filing off the positioning pin and drilling/tapping another.

Marty Forscher could have done it, I'm sure. Heck, he made Canon F-1 motor drives fit Nikon F2 cameras.
