Ideal bag for GF1/Pen with 20mm lens?

I'll believe it when I read a credible report showing how a fully retracted and parked 20mm lens (which happens every time the GF1 is turned off) can be damaged inside an overly form-fitting case. Until then, I (respectfully) think that you're making a mountain out of a molehill.

microFT is now accepted by the top pro shooters as serious gear...

m43 has been in use by top pros long before that article was ever conceived. The only reason why we lemmings haven't heard of it yet is because said pros tend to be out shooting rather than wasting their time on the internet arguing about cameras.

Woman sued, shot wedding on Rebel XTi

That does not make the judge automatically correct. There was no jury and no expert witnesses were called. It's down to one self-confessed amateur photographer's opinion, and you know the saying about opinions.. Again, that is one person's opinion, and for all we know he may have been looking...

Spots in photos from new T1i

Way to put down people who are just trying to help. Don't forget who was the first one to post and then go off on a "piece of junk". Dust is a fact of life. Scientific researchers and manufacturers of sensitive and/or space-bound equipment use airlock-sealed cleanrooms for a reason. And this...

    Highlight tone priority

At the risk of sounding snarky, what it "seems" and what it is are two different things. There are plenty of wedding photographers who love the feature. I'm quite sure most of them know how to expose to the right and use RAW, because anyone who calls themselves a wedding photographer and hasn't...

    Highlight tone priority

Just like it says: anytime you have important details in the highlights that you don't want to blow out. A typical scenario would be wedding photography, for example (white bridal gown).

Device to save images from SD card while on Trip

Maybe ditch the laptop and go netbook - that's what a lot of traveling photographers are doing. On my next trip I'm planning to leave the netbook and USB DVD burner locked in my suitcase or room safe, and burn images before I retire for the night. Or, if the hotel has wireless, ftp the files to...

    t2i / 550d FOCUSING SCREEN lessons!

There are people who "change focus screens all over the world every day" to better suit the photographic task at hand. Things like manual focus, architectural work, that sort of thing. A few specks of dust, on the other hand, has more to do with obsessive-compulsive disorder than any normal...

    t2i / 550d FOCUSING SCREEN lessons!

Don't touch the screen at all unless it's designed to be user interchangeable and you have the correct tool to remove and reinstall it. Dust on the screen isn't in the light path to the sensor and won't affect your images anyway. Messing with it is asking for trouble where none exists.

    What tripod?

You've been reading too much Ken Rockwell. OS/IS/VR can only do so much, and the longer the lens and lower the light, the worse off it is. A good tripod has no such limitation. And good luck finding a "natural object" that is at the right distance, height, AND angle for the composition you...

    Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 or Gitzo GT2541

Relax, I wasn't attacking you, Gitzo or Manfrotto. My only point was that it's neither fair nor valid for someone to label a product "overhyped" that they've never owned. Since you've owned both, I wasn't talking about you.

    Which Domke bag for Gf-1/G-1?

You should still check it out, locally if you can, or buy from a dealer with a good return policy. Maybe it's good enough for you, who knows. If you've never owned one of the older Domkes then it might not bother you anyway.

    Which Domke bag for Gf-1/G-1?

Can't help you there since I've never owned one. Bit too stuffy for me, I make do with a Lowepro now.

dxomark: how important it is for choosing camera? please drop few lines.

Because dSLR cameras targeted at the same market segment perform so similarly (indistinguishably, if speaking of real world situations) that only dummies buy one or the other based on lab data. Far more useful would be to determine if the system will do what you need (specialized optics and...

    Which Domke bag for Gf-1/G-1?

You're talking about the Domkes of yore. I've owned Domkes since the 1990s and in my experience the quality has taken a nosedive since Tiffen took over. There is one particular model I've owned several copies of during that time: the F-5XB. When I inspected the new, so-called "Ruggedwear"...
