    E1 upgrade to E3

I had the same kit (but some more glass also, and I also had a 510 in between). I kept both bodies, as I could not get a good deal on my E-1. On the E-1, the battery things was a requirement, the E-1 was using up batteries real fast in my mind. The E-3 is much much better, and I have never felt...

The 7-14mm. Is it worth it?

As for myself, I've had this lens for a few months now. It not by any means a lens that I couldn't do without, but it's a cool piece of glass, and does a good job, with some very cool shots in some situations. I shoot mostly live music, so what I can do with this puppy, compared to the 12-60...

Young cutie (bird) - post yours too!

Not being a bird or even nature photographer (99.9% of my shots is live music), I read this thread this morning, figured I couldn't post anything here. And then now, I heard a bunch of birds playing around outside here in my summer location in southern Sweden. These are just regular birds, the...

What's the deal with the E620 and E-30

So there is some interesting finding by someone regarding these cameras. A large number of threads seems dedicated to this particular subject. Yes, the real issue is deeply hidden behind obcenities, sarcasm (which is OK, in general), misdirectoed accusations, quotes along the lines of "he said...

E-3 owners, will you buy the coming E-X?

Yes, I'm pretty sure I'll get the next Oly E-x. The reasons are: I realy like my E-3, the way it works, the control, the IQ, articulated screen etc I have a whole bunch of Oly glass (and some Sigma), and it's excellent glass! I still think there are a whole bunch of things to improve, that will...

How many E-3 users still have E-1s??

rssarma wrote: [snip] I still have the E-1. I don't really know why I keep it, but I do. The E-1 has a quite exception quality feel to it, and it stands out here. That said, the E-3 is still a very well built camera (I also have a E-510, and that is beyond both the 1 and 3 in build quality...

    Which car do you drive?

I was checking if I was the Only Oly shooter driving British (MGF). I'm happy that wasn't the case. I guess both the Lotus and the MG qualify as quirky.

    Which car do you drive?

I am probably one of your case-in-points.. I drive a 1998 MG MGF (backwards running cooling system, Hydrolastic susension and all that). I'm an Oly shooter, E-3 these days, has been though E-10, E-1 and E-510. Just too much Oly glass also, where the 35-100 is like the MGF I guess. A bit quirky...

    Olympus Suggestion...a new flash unit

    Yepp, I fully agree.

just for fun: if Olympus were a car (or choose your own metaphor)

Sony = Hyundai maybe. Good value for money, slightly quirky, mass market appeal Pentax = Volvo. Not that expensive, good market precense, high quality, but a bit boring reputation Sigma = Fiat. Cheap, cheerful, often try to play with the big boys, but typically fail at that. Low brand loyalty...

    Does Bigma have HSM?

Well my BigMa for 4/3, says HSM on it.

Any word on SWD coming to 35-100mm f2 Lens?

Exacky my use. I shoot live music. When I subject is moving about, I use these guys to fix the focus when he/she is in the spot I will shoot at, and then I just hang on there until they are back in that position and are worthy a shot, and then WHAM, there is the shot. In focus and all, without...

Any word on SWD coming to 35-100mm f2 Lens?

As I said, I have the non-SWD 50-200. That said, I like it a lot. But as far as image quality, focusing speed and any other aspect, the 35-100 is on it's own. Now, I'm not a pro. I have not used any Canon gear, and no Nikon in Ages. I have Oly since the E-10 (followed by E-1, 510 and now E-3)...
