Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that I will be selling all of my Hakuba lens cleaning tissues and liquid because I have decided to go with Canon's lens tissue and liquid. I feel that I couldn't keep using the Hakubas because of lower alcohol percentage. I really feel like they are losing the battle and haven't really come out with a good enough tissue to keep me buying their brand. I know Hakuba makes great products but I feel like Canons' tissue will keep my glass sparkling so my images will be really sharp. I also know that Canon's tissue and liquid isn't out yet but I've decided to wait in line for them... hopefully I will receive mine at the end of summer. Furthurmore, according to the specs, the Canon tissue is slightly larger and I will get more cleaning for my money (When is Hakuba going to make an A4 tissue? I've waited long enough.) This was a really hard decision but I feel that this will make me a better photographer in the end.

Hi and good luck in your transition. This is "clearly" the way for you to go. I would make the switch myself, but I have too much invested in Kodak tissues and Eclipse and I could not bear to wait 'til the end of summer...

what an amateur you are, a REAL photographer knows that only bathroom towels will suffice.

Go practice with your poor lenses & tissues and stop bothering us REAL pro's.

;-)
Yep thanks for the laugh.

I'm glad that I had my coffee hours ago or I'd have a hot lap and a soggy beard (and burnt chin). Your parody sums up a lot of nonsense of late. Well done! I especially like the part about being in line for something not even out yet.

I can understand.

I have absolutely no doubt at all that if you use Canon lense wipes you will be a much better photographer and your prospects of being signed up by National Geographic will go up massively.

Just wait until Magnum hear about this as well. The vastly improved nature of your photography will guarantee that you'll be joining their hall of fame in no time.

And I know this is true. The guy in the camera shop told me.

For years now I've wanted to make the jump over to the Canon lens tissues, for obvious reasons. My main concern is damage to the lens coatings since I don't believe in filters.

Has anyone out there tried this yet?

You can make the switch but you will never be able t achieve the clarity of shots like this. taken just this morning with my new 3k hakuba. it's already made me a better photographer. can't wait til the parking lot fills up so i can shoot some more esthetic shots. so make the switch and we hakubas will just keep shooting. I don't even know why i get paid since Hakuba tissue does all the work.

I know of no other product like lens cleaning tissue that can create such brand loyalty. I hope you enjoy your new cleaning system, but don’t think that Canon cleaning systems are without their own faults.

I know of one person that switched only to find that the lens tissue was ‘front cleaning’ the lens element. I also gather that you have to swirl the cloth in the opposite direction, so you might find it will take some time to get used to the controls.

And Canon's tissue-making technology is vastly superior to that of Hacuba's. Hacuba is so far behind, what are the engineers there doing?

You know what else the sales guy, told me? Canon tissue has 10meg of fiberpixels. If you wipe your lens properly (clockwise is recommended and in circular motion), you will produce film-like images, correct backfocusing problem and your images will pop. Now just wait when the firmware 1.5 is released, it will definitely improve your skill as photographer.;-)

relieable source tells me and i believe that firmware will be out shortly that will correct that tissue, urr, issue with hakuba, so just hang in there.

Its not the size or the quality of the fibres in the tissue that matter, its the number and density of them !

My friends brothers cousin, who neighbours golf partner cleans the windows of the cities biggest camera store to the professional market, says that the hakuba lens cloth sucks so bad that any pro who still uses them does'nt deserve to get work.

Man, its bad. I've gotta switch.

I have got to go shoot some pictures of grandma and the trash in the back yard, and hakuba just does'nt cut it anymore.

My daughter's boyfriend who works at Best Buy heard the Toshiba rep,who is dating the Nikon rep, say that Nikon's announcement of their "Full Use Cleaning System" (how ever will they abbreviate this)is to be announced at the MTV music video awards.
You are being WAY to hasty.
Oh, yeah, we don't care so why are you telling us this!

My Hakuba came in, and after much mental anguish, I had the shop use

my deposit towards a Canon Lens Cleaner. The size was a factor, but for me, the biggest factor was the crop or FOV. With the Hakuba at 1.5x, the
17-55 lens would be completely cleaned at the widest angle. Since I
shoot a lot of wide angle shots, I would need either the 12-24 Cleaner or

the Delta 15-30 Cleaner to get me down to super wide angle, with the 12-24 at 18 Cleaner equal. However, with the Canon Cleaner and its 1.3x factor, the Canon 16-35 is completely covered by super wideangle Cleaner.

So basically I save the cost of a 12-24 Cleaner, or 1000 dollars by
going with the Canon, primarily due to the 1.3 size factor.
With either camera I'd have a 24-70 Cleaner, the extra size on the
17-55 is moot. Now with only a 500 dollar difference, between the
cleaners, the 8 extra fibres were worth it for me. And I'll have
more room to clean. However, I loved the way the Hakuba handled, even
it were only for an hour in my hands.

I have a right to my opinion in this forum just like everyone else! If you don't like it, go somewhere else! For me, the 8% alcohol content in Canons lens cleaning liquid is vastly superior to Hakubas' 4% alcohol. End of story. If you don't think so then you don't know anything about photography!!
