I like how the light dusting of snow transforms your photos. I'm considering posting a Christmas light picture that I took a couple of nights ago because it is not a typical photo.

I saw the colorful evening sky from my neighborhood a couple of nights ago, then I noticed a neighbor's Christmas lights can be incorporated into the picture. I took 3 photos to see how the scene will turn out and this is my favorite.

Had to call my husband in to see your gun/library/dog photo. That is nirvana right there!

I found the article very interesting. Had no idea "spaniel" was a derivation of "Spain."

Also just realized that you are saying that short tail is natural, and not docked?

You are living the life, sir. But I suppose you already know that....

These are great. Are the long-faced animals antelope? I like the log structure, even if it’s roof is long gone! At first I thought the front opening was the door, but it looks too short.
Yes Prong Horned Antelope which I read once that they were the 1st large mammals native to the Us

Wow! I guess that's where the lyrics “Home, home on the range, where the deer and the antelope play!” came from. 😁 We never learned much about the 1st native mammals in school. We did have a whole unit on dinosaurs in sixth grade, as well as the wooly mammoth. But learning about the animals that came after would have been interesting.

Nice photos. What are you going to get them for Christmas? They seem to have every toy available. :)

Don
Thank you, Don! They love toys, and they're very easy on them, too. My nieces usually get them some new toys for Christmas each year, and we buy them toys throughout the year.

At least once a year we go through and pick out the ones they no longer play with and donate them to our local humane society.

Just a quick phone pic of people waiting for their vaccinations. To the right is where folks line up and register after they show their appointment info. I went and asked, no walk-up vaccinations. It was a chilly night, about 37F ..

Thanks. Some Brittanys have natural short tails - most are docked, I think. Yes, after a decade of hell during which I was a 24/7 caretaker for my dying wife and dealing with an addict daughter (both are gone now) life is now good once again. I am a very lucky man.

What a bunch of cuties!!

iPnone cameras are surprisingly good these days - mine is still not up to the results of a real camera, but quite usable for snapshot stuff.

Quite an effect!

Brrrr.... I'm glad to see people getting vaccinated despite the weather.

"despite"? COVID-19 is seasonal to a good degree, and now we have the bad season in the Northern hemisphere.

Actually makes me wonder whether that's part of the reason Australia and NZ have been comparatively successful keeping the virus confined: their bad seasons and our bad seasons are half a year apart. So the times when travellers were most likely to be carriers were the times when the virus was least likely to propagate fast.

Well, nice theory but it did not help a lot with South America. But then there was a whole lot more uninhibited travel going on there.

Probably also helped by both Australia and New Zealand making visiting rather difficult along the lines of "you cannot come in". I have had my booster here in the UK I am pleased to say.

Growing old is inevitable; growing up, however, is optional.
And I have opted out.

My second shot has not been long enough ago, but given my voracious defense system as an allergic, I am pretty sure that I should be good yet with my Astra/Moderna cross. At least until the Omicron news get more specific about what works against it and how bad it is.
