New images of 300D

(Continued)

Affordable and the lightness of Kiss D strongly become the reliefs if it thinks with the system including the lens. When 17-40mm F4L is selected as a lens of this class, it costs about as much as 300,000 yen in total for EOS 10D in 100,000 yen of body 200,000 yen + lens while Kiss D becomes complete in general for about 140,000 yen if the lens kit is bought. In addition, the all up weight : though the former is about 820g. Latter..how..remain..money..lens..buy..camera..bag..stuff..still..light..become.

It can be said that Kiss D is an ability Model to have the performance to take a beautiful photograph while achieving a drastic low price firmly. It must be an excellent work digital camera that wants to be recommended for the person who wants to enjoy a person who thought that it buys a high-level, compact digital camera and a more beautiful photograph and the all.
  • It took a picture of the night view by a standard zoom to see the different of the description by the sensitivity setting. In the ISO100 corresponding (on the left) and the ISO400 corresponding (upper right), a remarkable noise is not seen. It is still suppressed to the ISO400 corresponding of an excellent, compact digital camera though it considerably gets rough in the ISO1600 corresponding of the highest sensitivity setting (left the under). Left..second..right..second..left..second.
  • It this time takes a picture of the portrait again with 90mm lens. The condition that considerably strong light is hit is a charm the feeling of quality of the skin without becoming hard. (F3.2, squeezing priority mode, fine weather of white balance, and TS-E90mm F2.8 use for ISO100 and 1/320 seconds)

I mean it's ALL here!

The 10D versus the Rebel:

"If the taking a picture speed of professional A level is requested or the goodness of little convenience is valued, it is clear that EOS 10D exceeds it more than Kiss D."

Questions about the flash capabilities:

"The flash is made to emit light and it takes a picture of the hamster. "

No worries here!

Bang for the Yen...I mean buck:

"the performance to take a beautiful photograph while achieving a drastic low price firmly."

No more concerns about the plastic body for me!

"the feeling of quality of the skin without becoming hard."

One thing though- my lady friend became somewhat concerned about this feature:

"squeezing priority mode"

I told her it was a photography thing...

ROFLMAO!!!!! Who could possibly be concerned with soft images when there's a review like that available?

"the feeling of quality of the skin without becoming hard."

"squeezing priority mode"

"I told her it was a photography thing..."

Yeah right! ;-)

Nice one there Yasu,

I esp. like the ISO-1600 performance. After fiddling all evening yesterday to get my Fuji 602Z ISO-160 pictures to take a good looking USM/Refocus sharpening (I finally gave up, too much artefacts due to noise) this is very encouraging. All pictures took USM/Refocus sharpening without a hitch and look brilliant!

Another interesting thing for me is that the ISO-100 pictures generally compressed better than the 400/1600 ones. Noise is definately the reason here but the compression algorithm seems to be configured in a way as to not compromise image quality for higher compression. Very good!

My old Fuji 602Z shows much less variance in file size and even if noise creeps in, the pictures still get squeezed down to about the same size, resulting in more JPEG artefacts...

Thanks a lot for the link. What I see is some problem with the white balance - mainly on the second portrait:purple in grey. Some kind of unsharpness in all of the pictures. Lens flare on the first nightshot, noise on the second - but this noise is not grave with 400 ISO. Generally: typically soft Canon shots with some white balance deficiency. We will have to do some PS work...

It's hard to say since the text is in Japanese.

However, I did recognize one lens (50mm f/1.8 II) under this photo
http://arena.nikkeibp.co.jp/rev/camera/20030902/105780/19.shtml and
it looks pretty soft to me. So in that photo, it is probably the
camera since the 50mm f/1.8 II produces sharp and colorful photos.
The 50/1.8 is not all that sharp at F1.8. It gets much better stopped down a little. Also, at F1.8 the DOF is very shallow, only a small part of the picture will be relatively sharp while the remainder will be softer. 50/1.8 @f1.8 is actually a very good portrait lens because portraits are supposed to look a little soft (to hind skin imperfections).
BTW, the 50mm f/1.8 lens is a real bargain at under $70.00 and is
popular among many dSLR users. Digital Rebel users should really
consider buying this inexpensive lens.

Tim C.
It is meant to be soft. Remember, dSLR's do not do any processing
inside the camera. Sharpening included.

This was shot at 1/13 second. You can see the effects of camera shake in the image.

The first 3 portraits were taken with the 18-55 close to wide open. What we've seen so far of the 18-55 reminds me of my 24-85. It's just OK. It's not the sharpest to start with and as these portraits demonstrate, it tends to get soft with some weird bokeh wide open. That's too bad although it's probably still a good value.

The 90mm portrait at the bottom of the page is quite nice IMO. It has good optical sharpness and no signs of artificial oversharpening.

Just so's you are all aware... I was sitting on the page with the photo of the fancy building entrance - I clicked the large photo to see the fullsized one, then went back to the smaller view. Then I right-clicked and selected "save target" so I could get the fullsized JPEG on my harddrive (I wanted to look at the EXIF information).

About a half-minute later, my Norton Antivirus let me know that it had stopped a virus from being written to my harddrive. "Downloader.Trojan" contained in MSCACHE.EXE.

As this was the only web page I was looking at at the time, I have to assume that something on this page is what attempted to download the file.

So - be careful!

You've got a very shallow DOF, to start with.

But at 1/13 sec, there's going to be a lot of handshake, too. He was probably so nervous and excited to be able to shoot with the camera. ;-)

But you can see the effect of hand shake even in the background that is understandably out of focus.
Arigatoo gozaimasu.

Do you think that the picture of the glass of ice tea or something
looks out of focus? Or is it because the DOF is small therefore
only one tinny slice of the glass is actually in focus? That
picture was taken with 50mm F1.8 iso100 shutter 1/13. Ah could also
be hand shake that had caused the slight blur.

Portraits looks great.

In my case, whenever I tried "Save Picture As..." to save the full size sample pics, I was given the option to save them as BMP only (no option to save as JPG) though when I right clicked such a pic to show its property, it did show the file name of something.JPG. What to give? I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 and Internet Explorer 6 SP1 (if that matters).

Bill,

Thank you very much for the help. I will certainly go through that Microshaft :-) knowledge base article on this particular problem and see if the solution/fix provided would work for me.

James
James...this is a known problem with Internet Explorer v5.5 and
v6.0. Take a stroll over to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb ;en-us;810978 when
you get a chance.

It is Microsoft's support page detailing the problem and how to
work through it.

Hope this helps...Bill
