Dear Philip, the pictures show as I like, very clear , sharp , superb colors. :-)

Thank you very much.

But I expect from you BIF . ;-)

You are the master of BIF.

Today even pensioners not much shooting stationary birds. :-):-):-)

Why keep me in tense ? :-)

I hope I do not die, until BIF will come up to me from you. :-)

Regards, Valeriu

Congrats with your new K-1!

Dear Philip, I have a lot of patience.

If I am not moved to Nikon , I have some patience . ;-)

I am deflated a little, when I learned that Sigma lenses have problems with K-1.

I have Sigma 150-500mm and Sigma 70-200mm f2,8 macro II EX , both FF.

Very strong strike for me.

Regards, Valeriu

Most impressive Phillip - have you tried the HD TC @ wider apertures, how low will it go before vignetting?

Stunning images Philip. I really do like seeing non-BIF shots of birds that I have never seen before. So much detail to look at. Thanks for showing.

Hello Philip,

It looks as if the K1 has no problems focussing accurately at f8 :-)

Now I know that you have the light down there that Pentax cameras need to focus properly at f8, but how is the focussing reliability and accuracy of the K1 vs the K3?

For me, the DA560 + 1.4tc is the ideal setup, but auto focus is unreliable in light other than the fullest bright sunny daylight, as you would expect at f8 with Phase detection AF. Is the K1 better than the K3 in that regard?

Thanks.

Chris

Fantastic shots, they really come alive at 100%.

cheers,

Rene

Great shots. I'm slightly puzzled by the zebra finch, as it's not native to your parts and I hadn't heard of it establishing there after accidental introduction. Is it a wild bird or are you near an aviary? (I assume these were taken in Pretoria.)

Hi Chris

Only had the camera for a day the AF is very good. Will do some more testing and let you know. My 560 is sitting in France at the moment for service after a mishap. Really looking forward to try that on the K-1.
