Just curious, Firts Camera You had or still have?

Minolta XD-7 with a 50mm 1.4, still working.
Hey,
Just for fun and curiousity.
What was Your very first camera?
I have still my AE-1

Have a warm and happy day (again snowing and getting cold here in
Finland)

My first camera was not a camera. A fixed-everything box I got from my grandma when I was 7. It was exiting, but even I could notice the photos were crappy.

My first real camera was a Praktika TLL, with a 50 mm and a 135 mm lens. I stil have it but it stopped working.

Sometimes I think that I had more fun and just as much keepers with that old body as with my fancy 50E and IS lenses today.....
That Praktika forced me to take my time and think about what I was doing.

Hi Ari - what a lousy question- it reminds me of my age :-). First camera was a Coronet Cub (circa 1946) then through Kodak Retina,Contax 2a,Exakta,Mamiya 645,RB67 and now a D60. One day I hope to take a good photo!

I know what you mean about the cold. It must be 56 degree F. here this morning:-) The walkways...... they're all covered with a light, slippery mist that's mostly dried. The weather conditions here are horrible:-)

The trees started budding late this Winter, usually they start budding a few days earlier:-)

Address purposefully omitted so I won't become a victim of a terrorist attack launched from Finland:-)

As to the first camera, it was a little box brownie kit, purchased with monies earned mowing lawns for neighbors. The first impression was of taking a night flash image of my sister in the backyard. The year was about 1960-62.

It must have been a big Christmas for Kodak that year! I had one as well.

My first real camera was an Exacta with Pentax/Practica screw mount lenses and interchangeable viewfinders. I bought it in the late sixties while I was taking photography in college.

My favorite early camera was an Olympus Pen F. Half frame 35 mm (you got 48 photos from a 24 exposure roll). It was an unusually designed SLR with the coolest little lenses I have ever seen. Each one was a little work of art (and quite sharp)! Bought it while in college as well.
and it cost $8.50!!! What a deal!!

Other than Brownies, my first 35mm camera was an Argus C3. That dates me. I received it for a 9th grade graduation gift. I also had previously used my dad's Speed Graphic 4 x 5 for shooting basketball for my junior high newspaper.

Canon D60
Film? What do you mean, film?

My first was an Argus C3, followed by a Minalta twin lens reflex, followed by a Pentax SLR, followed by a Nikon F1 a Conon Ft, a A1, a D30 and now D60.

With 42mm x 1mm screw mount lenses and stop-down metering, in 1972. I only owned it for 3 years (until I got sick of the stop-down metering) and replaced it with a Canon FTb. Three years later I bought a second FTb, which I still own, although I've sold most of the lenses for it.

I bought a Canon AE1 in 1986 for my girlfriend and use it a few time. But 2 years ago I decided to learn photography and bought a Pro70 follow by a D30 a year ago. Now waiting for a full frame dslr under $2000.
