Before anything else, let me apologize for posting very few comments on pics lately. It's been nuts and I've been under the weather since Tuesday. I did want to post a pic from today though. I did get a few nice ones. I was hoping to post more of my spring runoff pics but haven't gotten around to it and I don't know if I will get around to post more from today. I hope to though. Tommorrow I'll be out of town, down Shutters way.

It finally was beautiful out when I was at Split Rock Lighthouse today. I took many different views as usual. There were finally some nice clouds. I used a CPL and it sure made a difference when I would adjust it. It would make those clouds stand out so nice and clear up the reflections on the water. This is a long shot of the lighthouse. I did the quick and dirty autolevel and USM of 50 in Adobe PS 6. Please hit "expand width" for full pic.

Hello Randy,

Congratulations on the weather. The clouds add a nice touch to this one.

Hi Randy,

Wow! this ones a beaut! Really terrific, love the wonderful colors and great depth of field. Most of all, your composition choice here is super! The viewer gets pulled right into the scene, like taking a quick mini vacation. Thanks for the break!! :-)

Re: commenting, I get really torn myself lately on this subject. The forum moves so fast, and when I post a photo, I get so many nice comments a lot of the time from the regulars, thatI really feel it important to try to keep up on the viewing and commenting. Seems like that would almost be a full time job by itself! So... I'll try to do the best I can, given my real life obligations, and that will have to do. Love the photos and the interactions, but I'll have to push myself to prioritize. Curt A.

Congratulations on the beautiful weather, Randy!

The lighthouse looks really good against that sky, and I like the way you used the foreground rocks to frame it.

Best wishes, and I hope you're feeling better.

Hi Randi

Iys a beautiful image fantastically framed. All the details and the colors are so nice and the lighthouse easily serves as an exciting focal point. I love how all components work so well together. the water, the sky and clouds together with the rocks and trees

nice shot Randy, I've seen post cards of the lighthouse that weren't this nice. VERY scenic!

You and Kim are makin me want to come back to Duluth this summer. I want to take my F707 up to Gooseberry Falls, that's one of my favorite spots. Keep up the good work!!!

Hi Randy,

A lovely wideangle shot of this beautifull area. Glad that I could see it and the blue sky adds to this image.

With kind regards,

Amazing photo!

I love the colors and angle from which you took this picture. The sharp focus both up close and back toward the lighthouse is wonderfu.
Great Job!!!
Thanks,
Tammy

Thanks Hugh,

Those clouds were what I was waiting for. It was always overcast or cloudless when I've stopped by here.

Thanks Curt,

I noticed a few weeks ago your absence from the forum for awhile. I seem to go in streaks. Life is to busy and this forum does move fast. I would love to look at more and comment more but with my slower connection, my typing skills and time constraints sometimes it's impossible.
I suppose I could cut out sleeping to save time!

Thanks Adrienne,

I took a lot of shots that day. It was nice to have sun and a nice sky. My cold is still hanging on. I though it was going to be short lived but I was wrong.
