Help with retouching this pic of my daughter

Pandora1,

I'm not trying to imply that your daughter is constantly sad and it’s my fault if I gave you the impression that she's constantly sad in some way. I'm sure she’s a happy girl but the photo you posted up.. I just get this look of like eternal sadness, maybe something happened in her life or she saw something or what not and it just seems to rub off, I get really sad and almost depressed (but in a good way) when I look at her photo when I was retouching it. I'm sorry if I seem to be poking and prodding into places I shouldn’t after all this is just a forum and your photo is just that a photo but the look in your daughters eyes with the expression on her face for me seem to show a pain or sadness of some kind.

I'm sorry if I seem to be poking around or implying anything, I honestly don’t mean anything by what I've said above, its just the way I think and feel about the photo.. Very powerful stuff btw, her eyes speak volumes in that photo alone, I like seeing photos that make people emotional.

Very cool,

Pandora did say that she had just woke up. Looks to me like the average person that first awakens in the morning that hasn't taken off their make up at night...before that first cup of coffee.:) Then again, I guess if the history hadn't been given....one can read anything into a picture...that's what's so great...they all tell a story...whether the story is actual or not. Gotta luv photography.:)

Very simple. First I used the cleaned image of my previous post. I then used Flaming Pear's Pixel Trash (free plugin) greyscale (Normal mode, Courseness set to 0, Range set to 0, Sharpen set to 8 and Radius set to 32). I then duplicated and used Microsoft's Impressionist filter (do a search on this forum; it's located on Trimoon's website and available for free) set to Pencil Sketch, Detailed Monochrome with Brush Size set to 40 (all other settings are default). I blended to taste (don't remember the exact opacity chosen). I also erased parts of the Impressionist filter that had unwanted artifacts so they would not show through. I then flattened, duplicated, and ran Xero's Fuzzifier filter (another free PS filter; used default settings). I then adjusted the opacity to taste. Done. Did Fuzzifier to blend the image better. :)

Hi everyone

This pic seems to have provoked different thoughts to different people. As eveyone has taken time out of there lives to touch up a photo for someone they don't even know, let me explain.

Sophie is 15yo and in general a happy kid. As a matter of fact she is away @ present with a friend and her parents riding on her best friend Cindy. An 18yo thoroughbred who was rejected by the knackery. For whatever reason nobody else could ride this horse and many people claimed she was far to skits to be ridden. Often on weekends if you walk down the back of our place you will see Sophie lying down reading a book (which she loves to do) and the horse standing over the top of her ready to nudge her chest with her hoof if she dosen't keep rubbing her chest.I have posted another pic to show she also has a normal happy side as well.I an happy for anyone to play around with this if they so desire.

Sophie, like her Mum is a kind of spiritual and religeous young girl who enjoys everything young girls enjoy. Shopping with her mates or Mum definately included LOL

I guess the reason I posted the pic in the first place is that I too saw what some people have seen and its a look that only comes along every so often and I am so glad I caught it that morning. When she returns tomorrow I will show her all your efforts and she will be so embarassed....but deep down she will enjoy the attention :)
Once again everyone I thank each and everyone for your efforts.
