Morning Mist

It certainly is, and when served with..say...roast beef, roast potatoes, roasted parsnips and served with carrots/peas and thick onion gravy is a mighty fine thing indeed.

Or you could embed sausages in the pudding mix when cooking and have 'Toad in the Hole'.
Thanks for your interest.
Steve
Tell me is Yorkshire pudding from Yorkshire i've always wanted to
know that being I grew up in the UK it was always a treat at our
dinner table.

How yer doing pardner?

Unfortunately, trip-wise it's the end of the season, pretty much. Although there is no reason why, given as long as there is enough light to shoot in. It's just that there isn't enough of it. Unfortunately I am not good at getting up early, and the good light pretty well ends around 12.30 - 2.00pm so travelling to a destination that might take an hour or so to get there is less appealing.

It has been almost a year since I started taking pictures and I need to develop an agenda of seasonal picture opps and destinations and themes etc. At the moment I seem to be 'mooching' around kicking my heels for ideas. The colder weather makes outdoor picture taking less appealing also. I am trying to find somewhere that has the pemarral adapter and Nikon 6T in stock as an outlet in the Winter months so I don't go 'nuts'.

Steve
I like 'em all but especially this 2nd one with the houses and
trees in a kind of symmetrical perfection. No trips lately, "just"
photographing around your area? Same here, but my FZ20 (yes, I
succumbed) and gone-but-not-forgotten FZ10 have opened my eyes to
things I'd never noticed before in my home town. It will do until
I get back on the trail... :o)

Best Wishes,

We had our first taste of snow about a week ago, not a great deal and certainly did not sustain itself for the following day, so no snow shots as yet. A bit of mist/fog has been the next best thing I'm afraid. Although having said that I suspect you are heartily sick of snow in your 'neck of the woods'?
Regards
Steve
Made for a very peaceful start to my day, Steve. Great shots as
usual - thanks as always for sharing.

I was talking to the dogs owner about alleged sightings of foxes in the park when I saw it barking/howling. So I thought why not? It's a big softy really....like me!

Steve,

Nice going! That's a darn swell walk you have there. The menace in
the dog shot is palpable, I can almost feel his jaws closing on my
calf... or neck!

As ever, a visual treat to view your images.

Yes, I can see your point.
I must remember that next time I am in Berlin and need to insult someone.

Although as it was the first day back at work after a break, it probably did sum up how I felt, so there yer go.

Picture-wise, I feel the last one is reminiscient of something you might have taken, with a tree lined path and enigmatic figure?
Thanks again
Steve
Hi everyone,
Here's a few shots I took this morning on my way to work.

Like them very much, albeit the title is a bit funny for me:

Lots of stuff out there to see early in the morning, Steve. It may be worth your while. And you may become a birder.....For some unknown reason I still get up at 5:30am on my days off (I know, I'm sick) so I take off on my bike armed with Fluzi and check out the bird spots around town. I have the 6T and can recommend it; of course, it improves the DOF more than anything else and the image does seem "crisper". Yes, the FZ10 does love the light, doesn't it? I know what you mean about these frustrating shorter days; I took some shots down at the shoreline of a snowy egret and the shutter speed was just too slow for its darting around looking for food and the last flyaway shot. Too bad as they would've been keepers. BTW, you're a "friend" to my Smugmug site so I can check up on all your do-ings across the pond. "See" ya around, Steve!

Bonjour Jon, merci pour vous commenter,

Nice to have your personnage making fleeting appearances, if only like a 'Haley's' comet, ie. once every ten years.

Why is it when I open a bottle of wine the bit I want is always at
the bottom.
Merry Xmas Jon.

Now there you go see... there was an interesting conversation on the radio the other day about an english guy and his wife who lived in California for ten years but came back to live in England. One of the reasons was the appreciation of changing seasons from winter to summer etc. Whereas the days in Cali where uniformally sunny and bright whatever the season. Personally at the moment I favour the sun in Singapore mate!

Steve
Steve

Nice pics and brings back lots of fond memories. I lived in England
for 9 years and enjoyed those sunny winter mornings.
I now live in Singapore where it is sunny everyday - or almost.
thks for sharing.

Steve,

The last time I got up at that time was to catch a flight to New York. I seem to remember I was half dead then!

I was fantasising about some wildlife shoot recently whilst camped nearby in a tent.....and then I woke up in a cold sweat! I'm afraid 'dearboy' unless I radically change my lifestyle a tad I may have to think of nightime shoots instead.
Thanks for the Smugmug citation.

Wetherby, a very nice market town I believe, situated by a river?

I had a look at your galleries. Is it the dog shots you are referring to in terms of action? What were your settings? If I was taking those shots my ISO would be on 80, Continuous focusing turned off. I would be in 'shutter priority' or 'manual mode' with a shutter speed rating somewhere between 80th - 200th sec depending of angle of movement etc. I would then sharpen in post processing.

Very nice Steve. There were mists in my morning walk but not enough or in the wrong location for a usable capture.
cheers,

Let my images do the talking, after my wife, of course : ).

Oops. I forgot to scroll or enlarge the image and promptly missed the figure. Of course, your image it different because the path is not centric. And in any event, people starting making references to my work? Impeding doom! Sudden drop in temperatures in Hell reported! Spokesman says "only temporary, minor drop". Rumors have it that three lava pits had to be closed for up to 2 hours...

Thanx for your fine work and sharing!

OK,,,please tell me why shut off the CAF?

Well Giles, as you can't count on me taking any this year I am going to rely on you to take some fine snow pics this year!
Regards
Steve
Hi Steve. No snow yet, but can't be far away. They had some a few
miles north of here last week, but we escaped. The only thing good
about snow is the photo ops it presents!

All the best
