In this video, we're heading to Washington's Discovery Coast with photographer Corey Arnold and the Fujifilm GFX 100S to visit the Shelburne Hotel, the oldest continuously operating hotel in the state.
The Fujifilm GFX 100S is a high-resolution medium-format mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, designed for everyday use in pretty much any situation. Capable of extraordinary resolution, the GFX 100S's in-body image stabilization system and advanced autofocus make it perhaps the most versatile medium-format camera we've ever seen.
As well as capturing the details of this historic building, Corey will also be using the 100MP Fujifilm GFX 100S to shoot portraits of the people who work to keep the Shelburne open.
When I see "sponsored" in general I don't watch it.. This one, such a nice little reportage and portrait of that historic hotel and its people. And seing that multi-megapixel medium format camera in action makes it feel more accessible.
Amazon and Fuji may have sponsored this effort, but the Shelburne hotel and Corey Arnold have very effectively promoted themselves. Well done. The camera is good too.
Sensor size matters. Those who argue for FF over APS-C because of sensor size must admit that this Fuji medium format sensor size gives it some advantages in some situations.
Thoughtsrus: Well depends on the aperture really, for my A7-III I got the GM50 with f1,2 aperture and to be honest I can't see how much more a medium format is going to have an advantage, having in mind the price of the system, the lenses that are offered for those medium format cameras, and also the weight and size which should also be seriously considered.
The new owners "will guide the Shelburne into the next century"? Seems a bit optimistic as that is close to eighty years from now. In any case I gave the video a 👍 just because I enjoyed the elocution of the word "peninsula" by Barney. 😐😅😐
Most people shooting vertical move their right hand up, instead of down like he does here. Any comments/experiences on the relative stability of one vs the other?
