December isn't the busiest month for new products, so that means plenty of photo contests and 'best of' guides. Oh, and Red Leicas and drone-snatching eagles, too.

November was, as it usually is, a fairly quiet time for the industry. Well, except for Leica, which always likes to set itself apart - the company launched a new model mid-month.
October - in America anyway, it's a month for costumes, changing leaves and inebriated frights. And new cameras, and lenses! Join us as we take a look back at the tenth month of 2017.
In September we met Apple's newest smartphones, found out what it looks like when you don't use a solar filter to photograph the eclipse, and bid a fond farewell to Cassini as it transmitted its last images of Saturn.

Ahh, July, the month the sun finally comes out in Seattle. While it was a slow month for new product announcements, there were some interesting developments for curved sensors – plus frustrating news for travelers at US airports.
In addition to long daylight hours and plenty of that sweet Vitamin D, June brought us some oddball photography news, mobile tech milestones and some new DSLRs from Canon.
Thinking back to May we struggled to recall anything much happening, but once we actually went back through the archives and looked, it turns out that May was a pretty busy month! Here's a quick reminder.
Ahh, April: the beginning of Spring. The sun starts to come out after a long winter, flowers are blooming and bears come out of hibernation. April was a pretty busy month in the camera industry, including some real blockbuster announcements.
In March, we published the final pieces of show content from February's CP+ trade show in Japan, and said goodbye to an institution, as Popular Photography magazine announced its final issue.
