Pentax K-x vs. Nikon D5000

Pentax K-x (RAW)
Nikon D5000 (RAW)
4.3 MB JPEG (4288 x 2848)
4.4 MB JPEG (4288 x 2848)

Using to our benchmark RAW converter, Adobe Camera RAW tries to equalize image processing between the two cameras and allows us to get a better idea of the level of detail actually captured. As you can see both cameras images look crisper and exhibit better detail but the D5000 gains marginally more in relative terms (mainly because its JPEG output is that much softer). Both cameras shows impressive detail and pixel-level sharpness. Again, it would be next to impossible to distinguish between these two images at normal print sizes.
