Panasonic DMC-L10 vs. Pentax K10D

Camera settings:

  • Panasonic DMC-L10: Olympus 50 mm F2.0 lens, Aperture Priority, ISO 100, film mode standard,
JPEG Large/Fine, Manual WB, Mirror Lock Up, 2 sec self-timer
  • Pentax K10D: Pentax 50 mm F1.4 lens, Aperture Priority, ISO 100
JPEG Large/Fine, Manual WB, Default Parameters (Natural IS), Self-Timer (auto MLU)
Panasonic DMC-L10
Pentax K10D
4,538 KB JPEG (3648 x 2736)
2,659 KB (3872 x 2592)

We've commented before on the K10D's poor JPEG processing, in particular the sharpening, and as a result the L10's output, slightly soft though it is, looks a lot crisper.
