Nikon Coolpix 800 Review
The battery compartment is identical to that found on the Coolpix 700 with the press button slide across mechanism which works well and doubles as a camera reset button (if you press it hard enough). And yep, the Coolpix 800 is supplied with a quality set of Alkaline AA batteries which last about 20 minutes... sigh... Come on Nikon, follow Olympus and Canon's lead and start supplying your cameras with rechargeable batteries and chargers!
On the base moulded around the battery door is the same compact flash compartment found on the Coolpix 700, same improved door (though it's still an area of concern). Note the width of the CF slot. Yep, the 700 can only take CF Type I cards just like it's siblings the 700 and 950. Shame that.
Again, no surprises here (and no USB either) on the left side of the camera we find the DC input, Video out and Serial I/O connectors which are used with the supplied cables. AC adapter is an optional extra.
