The sample shot of this well-lit scene confirms what we've seen in the real-life samples on the previous page. With its 13MP CMOS sensor the LG G2 resolves decent detail but cannot quite keep up with the best in class with a similar, or even lower, pixel count, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 or Apple IPhone 5s. Both those competitors deliver a cleaner image, with less noise and fewer processing artifacts. In the G2 image low-contrast details is also more blurred by noise reduction.

Overall LG's image-processing means that in terms of image detail in good light the LG is not quite on the same level as some of the competition in the 13MP class and has no noticeable advantage over the best 8MP devices. Of course these differences will only be visible at large magnifications and will hardly be noticed when posting images on social media or using them in apps such as Instagram or EyeEm.
