JPEG/RAW Image Size & Quality
The HP 850 provides a total of six combinations of image size and quality. There are two selectable image sizes of 2272 x 1704 and 1136 x 848 and three different JPEG compression levels indicated by a number of stars.

To give an impression of what some of the combinations of image size and quality produce the table below is a cross reference of them:

With the advent of the 850 HP have taken a different approach
than they did in the 812, that is they have now split up the selection
of image size and quality. With this split we see an increase in the number
of selectable JPEG compression levels but not image size, which is a shame.
HP do seem to have improved their comression algorithm, very few artifacts
at the
or
quality settings and fairly respectable compression at the
setting.
