Studio scene

Our test scene is designed to simulate a variety of textures, colors and detail types you'll encounter in the real world. It also has two illumination modes to see the effect of different lighting conditions.

Here we see that the EOS M200 produces essentially indistinguishable image quality compared to the EOS M50 - this isn't surprising, as they share the same sensor and processor.

So, that means we see good performance in Raw at base ISO, with the Sony a6100 showing a bit less noise in its Raw files at high ISO values. As we noticed with the EOS M50, the EOS M200's JPEGs show nice color, but we find we prefer the slightly richer reds of the Olympus E-M10 III. Fine detail in JPEGs at low ISO values splits the difference between the Olympus and the Sony - it's competitive, but the Sony shows a bit more detail. The Sony is the clear winner at balancing detail and JPEG noise reduction as the ISO values climb.
