Thanks to its efficient optical image stabilization system in our low light studio test the Amazon Fire Phone opts for a comparatively low ISO 620 sensitivity setting. In combination with a well-balanced noise reduction this results in very good edge detail and textures, even in these dim conditions. Fine detail is suffering but less so than it would on most competing devices. Some luminance noise is visible but it is well under control and fairly finely grained which makes it less intrusive than grain that has been smeared by noise reduction.

In the mid-tones some traces of chroma noise are visible but again this is well under control and won't be visible at all at smaller viewing sizes. Color and exposure are well maintained as well and overall the Amazon Fire Phone is performing very well in low light.
