In our brightly lit studio scene the Fire Phone generally delivers good detail and textures but struggles a little with some elements of low-contrast detail, such as the green fake grass in the corners and the pencil drawn portrait. High-contrast areas such as the resolution charts show a lot of detail though. Sharpening is well balanced and creates well-defined edges while avoiding halos or other sharpening artifacts.

Some grain is visible in areas of plain color but overall the image pretty clean. Colors are, like on most smartphones, a little saturated but within acceptable limits. Exposure of this scene is a touch brighter than we've seen on some comparison devices.
