Hello everyone, Hope you are well. I'm a bit confused between the new Sigma 85mm DG DN and the Batis 85mm F1.8. I am preferring the Batis, though it is difficult to find samples with the batis and the A7R IV. I'd really appreciate if you could share some photos (Preferably portraits), taken with batis 85mm and the A7R IV (not other Sony cameras). I'm mostly interested in the color rendition and the sharpness with A7R IV. Many thanks, and have a great day. --IG:...

Hello everyone, Hope you are well and safe. I am thinking of getting the Sony A7R III / IV (Not decided yet), and would like to get one of the following lenses: 1. Sony 90mm Macro G OSS 2. Zeiss Batis 85mm F1.8 I am wondering which of these lenses would be better for portraits. F1.8 and F2.8 is not a deciding factor for me, but I'm more after the rendering and the color. Sharpness also matters too. I leaning towards the A7R IV more, so the resolving power matters too. Thank you in advance for...

Hello everyone, Hope you are well. I am thinking of getting a 85mm lens for my Sony A7R IV and I was wondering which one to go for. I have used the 85mm GM before, and it is a great lens but also heavy and slow-ish at AF. I have used the 85mm F1.8 when I had the A7r III which is fast but I was thinking if I should get the Batis as I've never tried it before. Other than the lens getting attracting dirt quicker due to the rubber ring, how is the image quality? Is IQ comparable to FE 85mm 1.8 or...

Hi everyone, I've been gazing at buying my first camera, after doing a bunch of projects off rented material. The Sony A7iii is the chosen one, as I find myself doing equal amounts of photo and video. The "worst" part about it is: the sheer volume of lenses you can choose from, under a limited budget. I am somewhat open to anything, but after using Zeiss glass with Canon cameras I am gravitating toward their Batis series. On the other end, I'm frightened that being locked to a prime as an...

Is there a clear difference between the Batis 85mm f/1.8 and the Sony 85mm f/1.8?  I know the Batis is weather sealed but it is also $400 more.  Also, it is stabilized but since I have the a6500 I think the Sony will be good for me so I don’t want to pay $400 for OSS. --- Rebeccahttps://becksstadiumpizza.wordpress.com/a-few-good-pics/https://becksstadiumpizza.wordpress.comhttps://becksbestbreakfast.com

Hello: I was headed towards the Zeiss 85mm 1.8 Batis or the Sony 85mm 1.4 but the Sigma 85mm 1.4 Art is compelling based on their other art lenses and the price. Any reviews? Or insight? Anyone know when it's being released?  Thanks!

Did anything change on A7RII between firmware 3.3 and 4.0 with regards to sel55f18z, sel28f20, sel35f28z, and Batis85 auto focus aperture behaviour ? Are they still focusing wide open even when stopped down to f/8 ? [Settings effects ON] I know that things changed for sel50f14z, sel85f14GM and some other GM lenses.I don't have those so I wonder how the lenses that were "OK" before are affected by firmware update 4.0 did anything at all change now ?If i stop down sel55f18z or Batis85 to f/8 in...

I've been building up my portfolio shooting on my Sony A7S for wedding photography. I'm doing small weddings, 125 people or less, that have medium-to-small budgets. I'm a relatively new shooter, I'm not going to be like the folks winning best photographer in my city charging $7000 a shoot. So I'm a mid-range/newbie shooter and I need a mid-range/newbie kit. I'm at a place where I have a budget of $3000 to build out my kit a little bit and I need some assistance on what gear to go with. I'm...

Aside from the focal length difference, could someone who used both comment on the IQ, bokeh, and using MF only for street photography?  My understanding from the reviews and images I've seen is that the bokeh is much more creamy and smooth on a 135mm but the lack of autofocus could be a hindrance. Thanks!

Hi all I have at the moment a Sony A7rII with only a Sony 1.8 55mm lens. I wanted to buy extra lenses for my device. For Landscape, Street Photography, Night Sky Pictures(Stars,..)  I'm going visit (San Francisco, Yosemite, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Sedona, Page, Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Palm Springs and LA).  I thinking to buy an extra Lens Zeiss Batis 85mm + Zeiss Batis 25mm. The Batis 18mm is maybe an overkill at the moment. My supplier said to take better the Sony 16-35mm F4 and the Batis...
