Hey! I will be at a bachelor party/trip with some friends and want to take my Sony A7R IV and one prime with me. I am considering the Zeiss Batis 25mm F2 or the Zeiss Batis 40mm F2. I really like 40mm as it is so versatile. On the other side I like 24/25mm for this kind of photography as well as it creates an epic feeling with the wider angle and the fast aperture. Just wanted to get some opinions which of these two you would take with you and why. Thanks in advance!

I got lucky enough to be able to get a 16-35f4 from someone who's lent me the lens so that I can test it and buy it if I'm convinced. Currently, I own a 25f2.0 which I love for its versatility, light weight, colors, and so on. I've been hesitating a lot between the 16-35f4 and the 18f2.8 from Zeiss because I thought the Zeiss would be much sharper according to everything I've read. But after doing a little test during lockdown (so, it's not really relevant, I know), I'm quite shocked by how...

I'm a 24 year old guy based in Mumbai and am aspiring to operate as a professional photographer, few months ago I bought the Sony A7iii with an 85 batis and have loved the images it gives, but have found the focal length limiting. Looking to purchase a second lens that can help me be flexible when providing professional shoots. I do studio/street fashion and food mostly, and will soon be experimenting in weddings and architecture shots as well, apart from this I plan to visit NY this march...

I feel uncomfortable to ask a question like this. But you never learn without asking questions right. I have a batis 25 on an a7iii and use it for street photography and environmental portraits. To fill the frame I get to close to the subject and sometimes distortion hits me hard. I have been since then using the super 35mm mode instead of getting too close. But wonder how this compares to the bokeh on a similar apsc lens. Does super 35mm mode have any impact on the bokeh? Does it make it...

There are only a few (e.g. Sony 24 f1.8, Zeiss Batis 25mm f2, Sony 28mm f2), but curious how they compare for handing color.  Like JohnNEX where he Compared lens sharpness .  But don't know if I ever saw color handling compared on 2 or more lenses. What brought this on: Rented the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 recently, which has respectable sharpness, found its colors washed out. Anyone do comparison of primes in that focal length range, and focus how colors were handled?

Hi. Im new to photography. I have never had anything more than a completely amateur camera. I want to shoot people in everyday situations with shallow focus and landscapes. I want a camera that can do all in one and for it to be as small as possible. I dont want to carry 20 lenses. I think I am leaning towards a wide angle lens with wide aperture. I know smaller angle lenses are better for telephoto but Im thinking I can still get pretty good results with something like 25-28mm and F2. I...

Some people say 85mm is the best focal length for face portraits, 50 mm for shooting head with upper half body. 35mm for full length portraits? Is that right? Moreover, in many cases, I do not want bokeh. Because when I go to places of interest such as eiffel tower, I want to shoot both the people (my girl friend) and the eiffel tower clear to prove she had been to paris before. In this case, I do not want to blur the background. So, which is the best focal length at this time?  For example,...

So I shot this long exposure on a Sony A7ii with a Zeiss Batis 25mm f2. Settings used: ISO, 3200 f2 30sec exposure. When I bring up the shadows in lightroom, I get this weird purple noise in the photo.  I keep finding conflicting information online about what this coloring is and how to avoid it. Anyone also experience this / have any suggestions? Shot straight RAW: Profile correct + max shadow add

24-70f4  broke. interested in a light prime lens with atleast f2. checked on LR found that I shot 40%  at 50mm and 60% 24-26mm. I shoot portraits with large emphasis on environment . (never headshots) I tried the 28mm f2 ,and 35mm f2.8 and 1.4 and had issues for various reasons.  only looking at prime lens right now anyones thoughts? any other suggestions? autofocus is a must.

Hi all I have at the moment a Sony A7rII with only a Sony 1.8 55mm lens. I wanted to buy extra lenses for my device. For Landscape, Street Photography, Night Sky Pictures(Stars,..)  I'm going visit (San Francisco, Yosemite, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Sedona, Page, Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Palm Springs and LA).  I thinking to buy an extra Lens Zeiss Batis 85mm + Zeiss Batis 25mm. The Batis 18mm is maybe an overkill at the moment. My supplier said to take better the Sony 16-35mm F4 and the Batis...
