Looking for wide angle for my a7III. I have been reading reviews on several options and managed to narrow it down to three lenses - Laowa 15 f/2, Zeiss Batis 18mm, Sony 16-35 f/4. The 12-24 and the 16-35 f2.8 are a bit to expensive. Mostly landscape, cityscape and maybe a little aurora borealis. Seems like the three lenses have different strengths and weaknesses. Any recommendations?
The question relates to a specific situation where they would be used on an A7Riii and sometimes shot direct into a rising sun at around f/11 to f/16. Which one, if any, has the least flare? The other option is the Sony Zeiss 16-35mm f/4. I'm OK with a fixed focal length and 20mm is just wide enough. The advantage of the Sigma is cost and disadvantage weight, so that's my preferred option. I'm really trying to minimise cost as I just don't use ultra wide in many situations. If either of the...

Hi! GAS is growing inside me and as the rumored a7000 seems a mythological animal I'm researching for other options. (I've already open this thread some weeks ago, for those interested on my thoughts and some photos: Jumping from APS-C to FF. How? ). This is a more specific question: Which is "better" for landscape + astrophotography/Milky Way? Sony 16-35 f2.8 GM (best 2000€, average 2380€) + Better performance than 16-35 f4 at f5.6-f.11 or Laowa + All-in-one solution + 35mm for close-up...
I'm a 24 year old guy based in Mumbai and am aspiring to operate as a professional photographer, few months ago I bought the Sony A7iii with an 85 batis and have loved the images it gives, but have found the focal length limiting. Looking to purchase a second lens that can help me be flexible when providing professional shoots. I do studio/street fashion and food mostly, and will soon be experimenting in weddings and architecture shots as well, apart from this I plan to visit NY this march...
I know that this has probably been discussed before. But I need advice or tips to move on. I want a quality lens for astro, northern lights, and cityscapes at night. But I also want it to be a good landscape lens that will manage my A7RIII. I also want it to be used indoors without flash. Preferably Sony or Zeiss. I have the following lens in mind.Sony FE 24mm f1.4 GM (but is it wide enough and do I really need f1.4?)Zeiss Batis 18mm f2.8 (but is as sharp as 24GM, and I need something more...
Hi, I got a Batis 18/2.8 and tested out a few shots. What I noticed was moiré on the buildings I shot. I used to shoot with 5Dii and 7Dii with Canon lens that are not particularly sharp, so I don't know if this level of moiré is normal given the resolution of A7III + Batis 18mm (even though A7III does have AA filter). Note the moiré on the building windows behind the train station. Thanks for the input.
