Using Sony A7R2 here and currently own Batis 25/2 & Sony 24-70GM. Looking to sell my Batis 25/2 & go for a UWA PRIME Lens. I don't care about aperture and will take a 12 or 14mm F4 in a heartbeat if there was one, but there isn't. What's the next best alternative? I don't need zoom, don't care about weight, don't need big aperture. just want top notch quality and color tones with AF.
Switching from Canon due to the recent EOS R5 debacle and looking at new gear to get. I want one travel/vlogging lens that I can leave on the camera and use outside for video work. I am using the 16-35mm F4 IS from Canon and it's so hefty that I almost don't want to bring it. Sony has the 16-35mm F4 as well but the Batis 18mm looks reaaally nice, a bit more compact and lighter. (I'm a 50mm stills shooter so I don't care about the 35mm end). IS is nice but with IBIS like on the a7sIII probably...
Good day all, I am facing a lens selection dilemma and would appreciate your input on the best strategy to tackle it. My camera is the Sony A9. My shooting genres are primarily sports/action (all glass covered) and travel photography (I would say 60% urban, 30% landscape, 10% astro). As a pilot I photograph a lot of inflight scenes, both inside the cockpit and outside (clouds, interesting terrain down below, etc.). I do not do any portraits at all. Most of my travel photography turns out to...

Have A7R3, 24-105mm and 90mm macro 2.8. Mostly shooting landscape, kids, waterfalls, cityscapes... After reading many reviews about all UWA lenses I decided to go for Sigma 14-24 DG DN. My heart is not satisfied because I use lots of filters for landscape (and 150x150 filters not comfortable and cheap to carry & use), and f/2.8 is not that much good for astro photography. I am in a difficult situation. I am afraid, if I choose Batis 18, may be it will cover most of my UWA needs but I will...
Ever since I got my Batis 40mm I tend to be moving my photography more towards primes. I do have the flexible 24-105 and it serves the purpose as the one-tool-for-all travel needs, yet I see myself reaching out for my Batis 40 more and more. Cannot explain why that is, perhaps the special look of Batis prime photographs, the famous 3d pop of it or 24-105s weakness in the wide angle focal length. I am thinking about complete changeover from travel zoom supported by 40mm and UWA Laowa 15mm to...

Hi guys I'm wanting to upgrade from the DSC Rx1. I absolutely love the quality of photos it produces but as many know, the focus on them is terrible. (I also own a A7II and mostly use a Batis 18mm but am over carrying that around the globe) Now I'm contemplating going for the RxrII but have also taken an interest into the Leica Q2. I haven't seen any hard evidence of Sony releasing a III to my knowledge so should I go for a Leica Q2? Is 28mm a vast difference in capturing more than a 35mm? I...

Hey all, I was looking into buying an external intervalometer to shoot star trails when I realized we got the feature built in with the new firmware. (I was previously looking at miops, pluto, neweer and some of the cheaper options) Has anyone used this to shoot star trails? As I understand I would be limited by the max exposure time of 30 seconds? So i am going to be using a Zeiss 18mm f/2.8 lens this upcoming new moon weekend. Can I just use the built in intervalometer to shoot star...
Hi all, I currently own some primes & the 28-75 Tamron for my A7M3 which I bought a couple of months ago that Im very happy with. At the wide end I'm using the 18 mm Batis, but the convinience at the wide end with a zoom is tempting me. I'm more and more into video if that helps. Anyone think the Tamron will be up or it or do the quality of the Batis alone make the switch a bad choice?
