Images can be framed and viewed on a 5.7-inch 1080p IPS display that offers offers adaptive dynamic contrast and a blue light-reducing mode and comes with only 3mm thin bezels. Front and back of the device are covered with Corning's Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood a Xiaomi-customized version of Android 4.4.4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 system chip and 3 GB of RAM. Users can choose from versions with 16 or 64GB of internal storage.
